5.0 out of 5 stars Been buying this for about 4 years
My husband uses these frequently and they work perfectly for him. No next day drowsiness either. Me...nothing works for me, even prescription meds only work intermittently for me. But, yea, if you have trouble falling or staying asleep, these will likely work well
5.0 out of 5 stars Good sleep
I've been using Kirkland sleep aid, and ran out. These work faster and kept me asleep.
4.0 out of 5 stars It works better than melatonin
I personally haven't used sleep aids outside of melatonin before and this definitely works great. After using it, I usually stay asleep through the full 8 hours and then wake up feeling "ok". It definitely gets the job done. However, I did notice that this drug is VERY potent and does require me to sleep the full 8 hours not to feel terrible. Just like any other sleep aid, you are not guaranteed quality sleep but you can fall asleep fast.
5.0 out of 5 stars best otc sleep aid i`ve found.
another habit i should break, but the best sleep aid i`ve found that doesn`t need a prescription and some of those scare me.great price.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great sleep aid
Works for me. I sleep through the night without waking up.
3.0 out of 5 stars A little too strong
If ALL you want to do is sleep, this is a great sleep aid. Problem is that the light-headedness, grogginess, and brain fog don’t wear off for at least half the following day, making the point of a good night’s sleep almost nil with this pill.
5.0 out of 5 stars Works like a charm!
I have trouble sleeping. Like, SERIOUS trouble sleeping, and it’s been a lifelong problem for me. No matter how tired I am, it doesn’t equate into good sleep. I’ve tried everything that I could think of: home remedies, relaxation techniques, strict routines, melatonin, chamomile tea, diphenhydramine (Benadryl), and finally prescriptions. As a young adult, I thought I’d found the answer to my frustration of years of insomnia when my family doctor, whom I’d been a patient of for nearly a decade and knew of my struggles, suggested the then-newly released prescription beginning with the letter A and which rhymes with shmambien ;-). Although it worked pretty darned well at first, it caused some bizarre side effects like “sleep eating” (you’re not truly asleep, but not really awake either, and with an insatiable appetite and no real memory of it the next day). Another huge problem was amnesia if I happened to stay up past when the medicine kicked in. It was like flipping a switch—anything that I said or did after that moment was something that I would be oblivious to the following morning. The big downside was, like most people, I quickly built a tolerance which rendered it FAR less effective. My doctor said that was a very common problem with “shmambien” and switched me to a different newly released prescription starting with the letter L, and he which rhymes with tunesta ;-). Not only was it far less effective than the A prescription, but oh man—oh, I wasn’t prepared for one specific side effect. The following morning, I wondered what on earth I had “sleep eaten” the night before. I had the worst metallic taste in my mouth that I was convinced I’d somehow decided to store my spare change under my tongue for safekeeping. Yuck. Now I understood why the medicine’s commercials at that time featured Abraham Lincoln—it was because you feel like you’ve been using pennies as a replacement for a Werther’s Original.Once I read about doxylamine succinate and that it was considered to be the strongest over-the-counter sleep aid, I knew I needed to try it. I bought the name brand and the generic store brands and found that it consistently works very well for me and I have never once noticed a decrease in efficacy.I noticed that it can be hit or miss as far as finding it in the big box store as it tends to sell out quickly. After a cross-country move, I had some difficulty finding it in my local stores, so of course I looked to Bolo.I have purchased this brand about 6 or 7 times and I have been very pleased. The medicine looks exactly the same as the other brands I’ve used (I suspect that they are all manufactured in the same place) and it works just like the name brand and other store, generic, or private labeled brands of doxylamine succinate that I’ve used. I am very happy and will continue to purchase this on a regular basis as the price is excellent. I’ve now been taking it almost nightly since 2014 and I don’t feel unusually tired the next day, I’ve built absolutely no tolerance, I never say things of which I have no memory, I don’t sleep-eat, and I don’t have a bitter metallic taste in my mouth. I highly recommend this. It makes me feel better that this medicine has been around since about 1949 and is a first generation antihistamine. My doctor knows that I take it nightly and has no problem with it. I wish I’d known about it sooner.
