5.0 out of 5 stars Great option for a portable worktable, instant setup and sturdy work surface
I got this for occasions where I need extra horizontal work surfaces in my shop at home. They are easy to set up and make a great work table. Although I purchased for home, this would also be a great option on a jobsite. Everything fits nicely into the carry bag and take up less space than a set of sawhorses. And if you work on a level surface or use shims to level the feet, it is a much superior option for glue up and assembly. The biggest drawback is the price. For the price of one centipede you could by a bunch of sawhorses.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great for Processing Large Sheet Stock While Standing Up
Pair this with a 4x8 sheet of hard insulation and you have a sturdy platform where you can process large sheet stock and not have to either manhandle large sheets across a table saw or get on your hands and knees to cut on the ground. I also use this as a platform for large glue ups. It's sturdy. It folds relatively small. If I had it to do again I probably would have bought two of the 4x4 foot platforms instead of the single 4x8 platform. That way I could use them side by side for large stock processing but also get more use out of the smaller platforms for smaller jobs or as a set up table. The table is about three inches too short to use as an outfield table for my table saw. Still useful in that role, but would be best if it was exactly the same height as standard contractor table saws.
5.0 out of 5 stars Must have assembly/work table
This is hands down the best option for a work table. I am a finish carpenter with 12 years of carpentry experience. I do a lot of pre-assembled door and window casings in the homes I work on. This table support is perfect for my needs! Just add a 3/4” full 4x8 sheet of MDF and you are ready to go. Besides the 2 second set up, with all of the points of contact under the surface there is no sagging and it is perfectly flat. I can’t imagine not having it. Totally worth every penny. You can hammer on it, throw anything on it with full confidence- it’s strong enough to park a car on it. Seriously. Only thing that I don’t care too much for is the storage/carry bag. It isn’t the easiest to pack the stand correctly so that the zipper closes. But hey- at least they give you a free bag so no complaints there! Just buy it. Bora makes fine quality products that you can rely on.
4.0 out of 5 stars Good product but poor bag design
Easy setup up and breakdown, however time saved with setup and breakdown is all lost when stowing it in the bag. Would rather see a bag that you can slide over it when collapsed and zip it on 1 end. Would give it 5 stars if it weren’t for the bag design
5.0 out of 5 stars Bora centipede is great
I have looked at the Bora centipede previously but never pulled the trigger. I am building a 10 foot cabinet and figured this would make my project go so much easier. Bought the 4 foot by 8 foot one along with 2 of the table tops and I love them. So easy to set-up, breakdown and compactly store. Not sure how, or why, I made this long without it. I will get 2 additional table tops so I can have the full length supported, but for now I place one table top on each end. Considering buying the 2 foot by 4 foot one for smaller projects. I love the functionality and simplicity…I just wish I didn’t have to open it all the way all of the time…my only complaint/suggestion.
5.0 out of 5 stars Wasn’t sure at first
I’ve looked at these several times over the past couple years. I wasn’t sure if it was worth the money or if it would come in handy. on a project at a college in Chicago I thought I would give this a chance. We set it up as a workstation/blueprint table, and was surprised at how stable it was to load parts and pieces on and work off of. it sets up extremely fast and is unbelievably stable at the perfect. We have use this as a table or workstation on several other projects..The whole thing collapses and fits into its bag that has a shoulder strap, which makes it very easy to carry in and out of job sites. It is substantially easier to set up our battery powered chopsaw on then carrying in the rig, even though it’s on wheels. If you need a workstation, I do not want to set up four sawhorses or build a table for a project this is the answer. We have used this on siding, roofing projects, windows, doors, and trim projects. Unbelievably strong for as lightweight as it is.
5.0 out of 5 stars Really Fills a Need!
This is the second Bora Centipede I've purchased. I have limited space in my woodworking shop and am severely short of horizontal surfaces for assembly, glue-ups, etc. I put my new Centipede in the utility room of our basement, and when I need the table-top space, I zip it open, do my thing, and then fold it back into its compact storage size. It's like adding a lot more square footage to my shop by stealing short term space in my basement. Good product, sturdy, and I'm glad I have two of these.
5.0 out of 5 stars Saw horse replacement!
After watching a video about this product on YouTube I decided to purchase this to help in having a large work table that was compact and able to be stowed away. I now take if on some job sites I work on because WOW this thing is handy and very stable to work with! One of my favorite features is that when I cut plywood sheets, sometime the wood will fall however it will get trapped by the cross bars and not fall to the grab and get marked up from the fall. This allows me to cut precisely and much easier on those long 8th plywood cuts! Highly recommend!
Love it
This is an awesome product, works great, very strong, throw a sheet of 3/4inch plywood down and you have a table that will hold just about anything you can fit on it… within reason… don’t go putting your vehicle on it… lolEasy to set up, takes up very little room when you fold it up. Set up and tear down are both done in less than a minute… lolLove the product, so easy to use and very solid.
Great!
Very light and solid! Love it
Table
Would highly recommend mend this bit of kit.To more setting up stands and cls to make a four foot table, just chuck this out in seconds.Well worth the money in my opinion
This Centipede is fantastic!
If you require a strong, and portable assembly table, this is it. It sets up in a matter of seconds. I use 4, 2' x 4' x 3/4" pieces of plywood as a top. I used 3 joinery biscuits glued into one edge of 3 of the plywood pieces to hold them together. I can disassemble the whole thing and put it away in about 2 minutes.
