5.0 out of 5 stars I love these. Easy meal.
Just spicy enough to make you say Hmmmm......... But you keep eating it because it delicious. My Favorite Recipe for these for a quick lunch.... Leave the top attached on one side to hold the steam in. Break up the noodles into a few chunks, add all of the season and condiment packets. Crack in two raw eggs, one on each side of the bowl, then add some leftover meat, chicken, sliced hot dog....... or my favorite some of the pre-sliced pepperoni you get off of the shelf at the store. Then add water to the fill-line inside the bowl. I microwave mine for 4 to 5 minutes (yours microwave may be different) and then I let it sit for another 5 minutes, to make sure the eggs cook all the way through and let my meal cool down a little. Good stuff and so easy. My Wife adds canned Peas and carrots or corn along with chunks of ham or leftover shrimp. Either way, it's a quick, no fuss mean that's filling and tasty.
5.0 out of 5 stars Ramen soup
Easy to prep, great flavor and smells fantastic, great value for your money. Very filling but we do add protein to it such as egg and any meat. You can also add extra veggies.
5.0 out of 5 stars My Kid Loves These
These are my 8 yr olds favorite food right now. They are spicy but not too hot. There is plenty in one bowl to feed 2 people.Texture, Sodium content, Thickness, Smell, and quality are the suggestions to mention in the review…. Sodium: 1020 mg/serving, 2050 mg total. Texture: they are ramen noodle texture. Thickness, normal. Smell… normal. Quality is great.
4.0 out of 5 stars A rather nice tasting ramen
I wish there was an easy way to buy ramen noodles where I am from so that I could make my own, but I think I am going to try using some angel hair spegetti and see how that goes. As far as flavor, you really can't beat this. It isn't world class by any means, but again, you aren't really expecting that when you buy something like this. I will say that you would be better off adding your own chili sauce to it as the chili sauce that it comes with adds a little bit of an off putting flavor. When the chili sauce is left out, it really is a nice ramen for when you want a meal without a lot of effort. Avoid putting it in your microwave though. Boil some water on the stove and fill it to the fill line, then tranfer it to a bowl of your choosing and cover with a plate for five to eight minutes. You'll achieve the same effect and you won't have to worry about elements of the container getting into your food.
5.0 out of 5 stars It's ok
With a name like that, I expected tears or at least a runny nose. Neither happened, but I enjoy it more than any other "Ramen" style noodle dish. Quick, easy, solid flavor. If you're trying to cry during this meal, I suggest adding some real heat yourself.
5.0 out of 5 stars Wow, Oh, Wow!
04/15/24: Still loving these but wanted to update some info. The fire sauce isn't hot at all, but very salty. I prefer a capsasin kick so I ditch the fire sauce and use cayenne pepper instead. quite a lot in fact. It has taken this ramen from yum to YES!! Continuing to buy and won't stop unless it's no longer made.03/29/24: I normally buy the regular Nissin Hot & Spicy With Shrimp, found here: https://www.Bolo.com/dp/B08BQ3CMD6Found this version while searching for something else. It is out of this world and in a class all its own. I read a review that gave some prep advice and took it to heart. I didn't use the seasoning packet and instead put in a bit of white miso, a few other tidbits, with some sesame seeds and my preferred spice. You get larger, tastier noodles, a huge packet of the fire sauce, and the taste is amazing. I will keep buying and enjoying it.Because of my changes to the prep, there was no sodium after taste as mentioned by one reviewer. The foremost flavor in my bowl was the shrimp, yes real baby shrimp, and my modifications. It was so good I want another bowl but not yet... Oh, my gosh, so very good!
5.0 out of 5 stars Who wants hot?
This filling soup with a bite. Enjoy!
3.0 out of 5 stars Excellent flavor; pleasantly spicy. Great value for the price.
The Sizzlin' Pork flavor strikes a nice balance between flavor and spice. It's the least spicy of the Fire Wok flavors, but it still has a bit of a kick to it.I've also tried the Volcanic Mongolian Beef flavor; it also has great flavor, but it's much spicier. Just a touch too spicy for me with the Fire Sauce added, to be honest. The Mongolian Beef without the Fire Sauce added is just about as spicy as this Sizzlin' Pork with the Fire Sauce. Both of the flavors I've tried from this line are a great value for the money. Basically $1.50 apiece, about the same cost as basic Nissin Cup Noodles, but you're getting almost twice as much food and more flavor, as well. They also cost about 1/3 as much as the Tapatio ramen bowls I was initially interested in checking out when I found these Nissin Fire Wok bowls.I just placed an order for the Scorchin' Sesame Shrimp flavor, and I'm looking forward to trying that. The label suggests it has a spice level between the Sizzlin' Pork and the Volcanic Mongolian Beef.Edit: Now that I've had more experience with this product, I have to downgrade it. The problem is, you cook it for five minutes in the microwave. This reduces the liquid to a thick sauce. It's still great, but I have a problem with it. It boils over and makes a mess in your microwave. I have to lower my rating from 5 stars to 3 for this. I was interested in this product because I thought it'd be nice to keep a stockpile of ramen at work, but this is not a good product for that use. I don't want to have to clean the office microwave every time I make a bowl of noodles for lunch.
