5.0 out of 5 stars Love this machine (better than the fancy Okka full automatic one!)
I really like Turkish coffee and I am really glad that I purchased this machine. I love Turkish coffee but found my glass top stove top had inconsistent heat for the ibrik/cezve and I hated standing around watching it boil. Initially, I purchased the full automatic Arzum Okka Turkish coffee machine at double the cost, and I returned it, liking this machine much better. This minio machine takes up very little counter space, it is super easy to use and clean. It's portable in that it is easy to stow away off the counter or if you just had to have Turkish coffee while you were away you could take it with you. You just plug it in, put in the water and coffee, press a button and boom in a few minutes you are all set. I'm actually not a huge fan of the "foam" but I know that's important to a lot of people and I get good foam with the machine. It takes a few minutes but if I am not sitting there watching it, it really seems to take no time at all, and most importantly it makes delicious Turkish coffee. I like to drink mine out of a regular coffee mug, and at full capacity it fills my regular coffee mug about 3/4 of the way. There are very few downsides to this machine. I do think it is pricey for what you get, and wish it was more in the $60-$75 range but if you love your Turkish coffee like I do, then you will think it is worth it. The cup that heats the coffee has a metal floor but plastic walls. While I don't get any plastic taste in my coffee or even feel the plastic walls warming up, I wish there wasn't so much plastic. I was more concerned about that when first opening it as opposed to after actually using it. I do wish there was a general on/off button so I can keep it plugged in without having it on all the time (although there is a button to activate the process). My biggest pet peeve and I hope the designers are reading this is that the Max water line inscribed inside the vessel to let you know the maximum amount of water you can put it is nearly impossible to read and was poorly marked. In future versions, it should be easier to see.I mentioned I liked this better than the fully automatic Arzum Okka Turkish coffee machine that retails for twice as much. That machine was a beautiful machine and I loved the look of it on my counter top, the Minio isn't visually striking. However, I had issues with the fancier machine that the coffee always seemed to be gritty no matter how I tried to adjust it. For me, the coffee produced from the Minio is far superior. Also, I hate drinking out of a demitasse cup. I like a healthy portion of Turkish coffee and I hate the tiny cup and the fully automatic machine has the spout at a height that my regular mugs didn't fit underneath.I'm really glad I splurged on the Minio. The real question will be the durability of the product over time. I can't speak to that now, but I can definitely say that in most other respects I am really happy with my purchase and would recommend it.
1.0 out of 5 stars it doesn’t work
First of all the button doesn’t work. You have to press it many times for it to work.It doesn’t make the coffee the way it suppose to. it just heats up the water and coffee to warm temperature so the coffee doesn’t mix well as it’s not hot
5.0 out of 5 stars Very good
5.0 out of 5 stars Best tasting cup of coffee!
I tried Turksh/Greek coffee at my friends house and immediately decided to give Arzum Okka a try.Minio makes delicious, smooth, rich, and foamy coffee without the bitter taste. The machine is very compact and makes a cup in few minutes, depending on amount of water used. There is a useful light indicator and auto shut off. When the foam reaches preset level, the unit will beep.Few things to keep in mind. Turkish cup is tiny, as compared to US cup. 2oz vs 8 oz - basically size of espresso cup. That threw me off at first. So I brew my morning coffee in two batches. I use very fine, fresh grounds. I add water first, then add the grounds, using wooden spoon to stir. I do not use sugar. If did, I probably would not put it in Minio cup. Do not leave the Minio unattended; unless you calibrate the water and grounds just right, the foam will overflow. I learned to listen: the machine gets very silent just before the foam rises up.And now for customer service: My Minio developed problem with the light indicator. Based on some Bolo reviews my expectations from customer service were not high. However: my email was answered the next day. And after submitting proof of purchase with the photos of Serial numbers, the unit was replaced within few days. The customer service is located overseas, so chat does not always work due to time difference. Emails, on the other hand, were nearly instant at times. Best of all, Minio has 3 (!) years warranty. I admit having no experience with other Turkish coffee makers, but I would not change Minio for any other.

Wish it could be steel
5.0 out of 5 stars After a year and a half, still works perfect
I bought this Gold/Black version, a year and a half ago and it is still working perfectly. It gets used twice a day in the morning on work days. My wife and I both really like it because it is easy to use and clean. Also, it makes one regular size mug of coffee. One issue, the fill line is almost impossible to see, so I just put the water in my mug and then pour it in.

Don't Let the Price Scare You... This Coffee Maker is Worth Every Penny!!! Best coffee ever!
I became interested in Turkish coffee when I saw Turkish coffee prominently drunk on a Turkish Soap Opera. I chose this Arzum Okka Minio because of its small compact size. My goal overall was to drink the best most delicious coffee possible. Regular in the morning and decaf in the evening! Naturally, this would include grinding whole beans so that I can fulfill my goal of decaf in the evenings. To add to the Turkish coffee experience and add even greater variety I also purchased a Bodum French Press coffee maker. And I do own two Moka Espresso coffee makers. In my research I discovered that Turkish coffee contIns half the caffeine of espresso! Bonus.Ok, back to the Arzum Okka Minio. First it is so very easy to use! It is ultra fast which is such a plus. I viewed several YouTube videos giving instructions on how to use this specific coffee maker. On the advice of one of those videos 2.5 ounces to 1/2 tbsp coffee.... News to my ears...I want to enjoy a greater volume of coffee so I use 1 slightly rounded tbsp coffee to 5 ounces of fresh cold water. You can experiment on your own to prepare coffee to your own liking. However, typically it is1 tbsp coffee to 2.5 ounces water. I do like the coffee like this too....however, I find my preparation allows for the wonderful deep coffee flavour to shine through. This is real coffee. No doubt about it. It is not burnt. It is not bitter...just a true coffee robust flavour that never disappoints. It does not cause a stomach ache. Oh, if you are not interested in grinding your own Turkish coffee... I high recommend you purchase Turkish coffee with added cardamom. The cardamom perfumes the coffee with the taste of a most seductive spice. Now, sadly, this coffee maker does not produce much foam at all...but I am experimenting to improve the situation. As you use this coffee maker more and more every day you will find the confidence to become an fashionably animated barista. You will begin to pour the coffee into your cup from a grater height or distance from the cup. This is a start in the right direction and a bit more foam is produced. Who knew making coffee could be so much fun?!But delicious deep coffee flavour trumps foam any day. Don't look at the price...take the plunge and gift yourself a true and real cup of coffee! You will not be disappointed! If you love, love, love coffee...this is your dream come true!Enjoy!P.S. This type of coffee is also called Greek Coffee. The coffee sold called this is the same thing. The coffee grinder I have purchased is the Cuisinart Burr Coffee Grinder. I will be able to grind my own coarse coffee for French Press and powder fine Turkish coffee. Adding flavours is a matter of taste to either brew. Just sit back and enjoy!
Makes great Turkish coffee
easy to use and fast
Recibí cable europeo 220V
No funciona por el voltaje. Devolveré
Problem is not the device but the ad information
It says 120V but it is not ! They put an "adaptor" just to convert the plug ... Device is 220v and it won't work properly with 120v. It is that simple. Box was open and device seems to be used one.Having said that,I used this device before with 220v and it is a very good Turkish coffee machine.
