5.0 out of 5 stars Effective and 100% better than traditional traps

These traps are simple to set. No more being scared to death I was going to accidentally set the trap off while trying to set those cheap wooden traps. Those cheap traps are awful and difficult to set. Not so with these. Are these reusable? Perhaps if you want to mess with that. I don’t, so I did throw the trap away. Only had the trap set for a couple of hours and already caught my first victim. I had been trying for several weeks with several other brands and styles. All with no such luck. Give these a try if you are having a rodent problem.

We get mice in the house and garages periodically. My two cats generally take care of inside the house. They don’t have access to the garages. My hubby got those horrifying sticky traps after I specifically said not to. I made him deal with the trapped mouse and bought the snap traps myself. I want the mice to die, but I don’t want them to suffer in the process. The old school wooden traps worked ok, but I think more mice eat the bait and get away. Then once you get one, nobody wants to remove the dead mouse and reset the trap. We just end up throwing the whole thing out, which is such a waste. I bought an “electronic rat zapper” that electrocutes the mice when they walk into an enclosed tunnel to get the bait. That actually worked great, until it didn’t. I was looking for a more humane way to off the nasty critters. These plastic snap traps make it a lot easier than wooden traps to empty and use them again. You load the bait (we used peanut butter) in a little round bowl that comes out from the bottom of the trap. The mouse has to work a little harder to get the bait out than if it’s just on top like the old school traps. The trap is easy to set and there’s no danger of accidentally getting your fingers caught. You just pinch, like you would a clothespin, to set the trap. Your fingers are nowhere near the bait. When you catch a mouse, you just pinch again to open the jaws and release the dead mouse into the trash. So far, we’ve caught several mice and it was as effective as the wooden snap trap. It’s definitely strong enough to kill the mice. But you don’t have to touch anywhere near the mouse to empty the trap. The peanut butter was still in the little bowl, so we were able to just dump the mouse out and reset the trap. I love these traps and will probably buy more.

These work well. They’re reusable, easy to reload, light, safe to handle without fear of harming yourself (if you snap a bag clip on your finger, that’s about as bad as these would hurt).Only problem is when you hear banging around at 3am and find a mouse struggling to get itself free from the trap. Luckily, its pretty easy to pick them up and release them outside. Be sure to release them far from your house though! We watched one run directly back under our house after releasing it.

So much better than the old wood & wire traps.Very easy to use, and instant satisfaction.I was disappointed that it kills instead of trapping, but it is what it is.

1.0 out of 5 stars Didn’t catch my mouse! Or ANY for that matter

The media could not be loaded. So I bought these because they got good reviews and although I don’t like killing animals, I don’t want a mouse living in my kitchen, helping himself to my food and I saw one a couple of times it could’ve been more than one, but it wasn’t an infestation, so I bought these and some steel wool And I don’t know I mean they never caught him. I put peanut butter in there he happened to really like rice cakes he really liked the Apple Cinnamon Rice cakes. Anyway I eventually got tired of cleaning the droppings- I made sure there was no food on the counter. Nothing left out at all that all the cabinets had traps in them, and everything was closed and sealed in plastic and somehow that little guy was still helping himself every night. I would come downstairs and find droppings on the counter you know three maybe four not a lot that’s how they can say how many you have that one mouse can leave like 25 to 50 droppings a week or some thing or a day anyway, I eventually just had an exterminator come because I was scared to go into my kitchen. I know they’re small creatures and they’re more scared of us than them but I don’t like things that move faster than me and I was walking backwards into my kitchen turning on the light, making a lot of noise so he can go away , but he was pretty brazen, and sometimes he wouldn’t go right away, and I would see him, and it would freak me out, so I called the exterminator and I don’t know before the exterminator I had to come. I had gone and bought these packs of poison that are basically you know I think they make their blood coagulate or some thing long story short, I come back from the store and I run upstairs to put some stuff away. I come downstairs and he helped himself to a packet of poison and maybe I think it’s him and I haven’t seen him since so I don’t know if it was the exterminator or his impatience, but these Travis didn’t do anything there’s still loaded and they’re still locked and ready to go in my cabinet and I honestly I’m tired of looking at them now

These are easy to bait and set, but they rarely kill the mice in my house. Poor things struggle and drag themselves in the trap until they bang up against a wall and then die slowly or wait for me to find them and do the deed. I'd rather not have to finish them off.
