5.0 out of 5 stars Fragile
These are so fragile. About every 3rd bag tore as I pulled it out of the box. I ended up composting the rest of the roll. Just not worth the frustration.
5.0 out of 5 stars Finally used up the whole box
So it took me years but I finally used up the whole box. The one thing I noticed is the past 3 months the bags started splitting or breaking down easier in my countertop bin. That might be because it took me 3 years to go through them since I live alone but besides that they have been great!
1.0 out of 5 stars Don’t use this garbage liner for your food garbage
Bought this liner for a Behrens 5.6 L metal compost pail after running out of the Behrens brand bags. They fit okay-ish. Slightly small considering that it’s supposed to be a 6L bag, but there’s some minimal rolling over the edge of the pail, so it technically fits. Now, these bags HAVE to be compostable, because they are the flimsiest, most worthless bag I’ve seen. They come in a large roll, with perforations between each bag. I have tried to separate bags as delicately and slowly as possible, but they tear right in the middle about 80% of the time anyway. I swear I hear the roll softly laughing at my misery as I begrudgingly use the torn bag anyway since I’m to stubborn to simply throw out anything I spent money on. But that muffled laughter becomes a cacophony of demonic glee every time I go to empty the bin. The foul drippings of rot and decay pour forth from the worthless sack, mocking me as I gently lift the back from its dwelling place. The malodorous juice at the bottom of the pail is the coup de grace, a final bitter reminder of the worthlessness of this product.Be warned, fellow composter, these bags will be a waking nightmare for you as long as they exist in your household. I pray my warning reaches you before you suffer the same fate as I.
4.0 out of 5 stars Fine compost bags, but just one problem
These bags are quite OK, and fit perfectly in our Natural Home counter top 1.3 gal compost bin. I've used them for a few weeks now, and have not had any bags burst; they seem pretty sturdy. The only problem, and the reason I gave it four stars rather than five, is that they are hard to tie. I could fix that by putting less compost in the bag, which would give me enough slack to tie it up, but I don't have that kind of foresight. I cannot use twist-ties, because they are not biodegradable. So I've started using kitchen twine. I *hope* that my spool of kitchen twine is biodegradable - I believe it is made of cotton, and that will probably biodegrade at some point. What I was using before I got these bags were cat biodegradable cat poop bags (from beyondGreen, available here on Bolo). Those bags were great for the compost because they have handles (like plastic grocery bags) that can be tied to secure the contents. I switched to these compost bags only because they were about 50% cheaper than the cat poop bags. I think when I run out of these bags, I'll switch back to the cat poop bags.
5.0 out of 5 stars They help me to save the planet a little!
It's important to do composting, and now I have access to the green bins that the City of Austin puts out for composting! The problem with food in landfills is that it decomposes and releases methane. Try not to do that!!
2.0 out of 5 stars Far too delicate
I wanted to love these, but unfortunately, they are not worth the money. The bags are almost impossible to tear without destroying both the bag you're tearing and the next one in the roll. They rip very easily and leak like crazy. We toss our compost once per week, and they do not hold up for even a week's worth of compost. Look elsewhere for something that will make your countertop compost bin easy to empty.
3.0 out of 5 stars Easily rip
The price point is good but rips easily even when being careful not to so you often end up wasting an extra bag.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good for environment
We have been using this composed bag for years! It fits in our desktop compose bin very well. We love to use this for compose bin collection day every week.

Good quality and perfect size for a caddy!
I don’t normally feel compelled to write reviews but Im clearly now of that age where I get excited by compostable bags! These bags are awesome and great value for money when compared to the standard ones you get from most supermarkets. They’re very good quality and thick enough not to fall apart if you don’t remove it from the food waste caddy immediately, which is essential in this house as we’re a bit lazy. We went for the thinner option as it was cheaper but don’t regret it as they’re till better quality than our usual supermarket purchase. The box they are kept in makes it easy to remove just one bag at a time and to safely store them without them unrolling (or you having to continually roll them back up!). They’re also the perfect size for a standard kitchen caddy, with enough height for it to curl over the top of the caddy… which is great when you have a full bag and removes the need for handles!
