I read a bunch of reviews in search of a comfortable, waterproof ankle-high hiking boot, with good traction. I finally settled on these, and they exceeded my expectations. I took them to Yosemite, brand new, and hit the trails. They are comfortable out of the box. I found them true to size, but I did not use extra thick socks. These have more flexibility/movement in the toes than other hiking boots I own. After 5+ miles on uneven terrain (on snow, slush, rocks, crossing streams, marsh, mud, climbing over downed trees, etc), these kept my feet dry, supported, and steady. I like these so much, I insisted my husband get a pair for our next trip/adventure.

I've been wearing these almost every single day since I bought them in November. It's now March. They are comfortable, offer great support on every terrain, and keep my feet warm and dry in rain and snow. I've put them through a lot while working on our new property of 50 acres. They've been wonderful! I'm buying a second pair today just to have. But the pair I've been beating up for 5 months don't show any sign of wearing out. I really love these boots!

I got these with the ankle support because I have an ankle that never fully healed, and so I twist it a lot going down hill. The ankle support has been amazing, the traction and flexibility in the shoe is amazing, and it truly is water resistant! Hiking through a waterfall my feet were fine. It’s also just a very comfortable shoe, I’ve done some really long and steep hikes and these have saved my feet I feel.Also I just love the look of them the teal/blue is super cute!! Btw, I am exactly a 6.5 typically, but I got a 7 due to availability as well as being able to wear in the winter w thicker socks, and they fit perfect w the half size up (I do have wide feet though)

I got these hiking boots for a great deal at $72. I needed to get boots for our trip to Glacier, Yellowstone, and Grand Tetons. The moment I put the on, I knew I picked the right ones. They looked so slender on my feet, (not like the bulky ones) and soooo comfortable. I did yardwork in them and Loved them so much, I bought a pair for my boyfriend. Now we are going to have a cute picture up on those mountains with our matching Merrell's sitting on a rock on an overlook Haha!

Needed a shoe/boot for the fall and winter season. Not as 'cushy' as my sneakers but gives the support I need for my problem feet, with the bonus of being water proof, warm and not really bulky - more a shoe 'look' than a boot look. I've worn them for 2 days straight out of the box, very comfortable. I did order half size up after reading other reviews, and the fit is right.

Granite with purple accent is a great color but after wearing a day around the house my feet were extremely tired and aching.I tried adding extra inserts but it didn't help. I returned them. I see other reviewers had the same problem with the Yakota. I was very disappointed because the fit was great and no sores...just not a good shoe to own because it wears the feet out. And hey, who wants that in a hiking boot? I've ordered the Mohab style which has great review and will try it out.
