I've been making candles for years, always using wax left over from used candles. The results were a hodge podge of colors and scents, not very attractive or pleasing. Using clean, unscented, creamy white soy wax is such a joy to use. I don't care for chemical scents so often used in candle making these days. I add a few drops of essential oils to my soy wax. The result is a lightly scented, smoke less, long lasting candle. The wax comes as 1/2" to 1" unscented flakes which are easy to use, quick to melt. I was thrilled with the wick holders that came in this kit. Makes for getting a straight wick so much easier. The prewaxed wicks are a nice convenience as well. All told, this is a nice starter kit for beginning candle makers.

Pretty much everything you need to start making your own candles. I ordered some essential oil kits along with this Wax Kit and we are having a wonderful time making candles that smell great! Good quality for the cost

Con: Needs color flakes not liquids to change the color. Not really a negative thing but other buyers should know in advance as I have never worked with soy wax beforePros: I was very happy with the easy single pour process in a double boiler setup. Low to Medium heat is perfect. Takes fragrance perfumes and essential oils extremely well. For more fragrance, use more oils. Easy pour, easy cleanup.Tip: use high heat resistant glass or tins for this project. I didn’t stir the air out so there were a few bubbles- stir stir stir or slow pourIt loses one star only because I think the seller should include a basic instructional how to for color tips and maybe provide a sample. Make sure you check the ingredients of the color flakes to avoid the color and wax separating like oil and water. Definitely a kit for someone with more experience but even for a noob with soy wax, it was a fun project. I would definitely buy again.

I do recommend this kit. The wicks are nice and long. You do need to hot glue them into the glass container!! then the wax melted fine. The only issue to note is the big bag of wax chips becomes very messy to try to "pour" into the double boiler /cup. It's a big plastic bag and various size wax pieces to get in to melt. There's no scent, so a couple drops of essential oil make for a very light and bright gift :)

Very impressed with this wax. I was new to candle making but I wanted to try and give them as Christmas gifts. They turned out great and people were impressed that I had made them.My only advice if you’re new to candle making is to make sure that you are pouring your wax into your jar at the proper temperature or else the wax will dry and shrink or get sink holes. That was my only learning curve. Once I figured that out this whole process was super easy.Honestly I spent so much money on candles before and now I will save hundreds of dollars by just making them for myself.This comes with really nice wicks too. They burn great.
