This is badass! ☺️💕 JBL puts out a good speaker. This is slightly lower quality than the one we bought a few years ago on the material of the casing & I hope they knock that off trying to skimp to eek extra proffit because its skeezy & not a good business practice. They have a really awesome quality product if they don't slip on the materials & workmanship. It's got reliable Bluetooth platforms to all kinds of devices, the sound quality rocks. It has that base! And its water and dust resistant. You can stand it up on end & lay it down and it has a good long batery life. Just be careful people don't steal it because of the size. Love it!

As an audiophile on a budget, I'm always looking for speakers that deliver quality sound without breaking the bank. I decided to give the JBL Flip 5 a try based on its affordable price point and positive reviews. Here are my thoughts after testing it out:Pros:- Great value for the price. Impressive sound for under $100.- Sturdy, rugged design that can take some drops and dings. Perfect for travel and outdoor use.- Good battery life. Got about 8-10 hours of playtime on a single charge.- Easy to connect and pair with devices via Bluetooth. Multiple JBL speakers can be linked up.- Intuitive physical controls for power, volume, etc.- Super portable and compact. Can go anywhere!Cons:- Sound lacks some detail and nuance, especially in the highs. Can get slightly distorted at max volume.- Bass tone is a bit muddy and exaggerated. Not the most accurate.- Performs best when placed near a wall/corner. Sound is not as full in open space.- Mid-range frequencies are emphasized over lows and highs. Not the most balanced EQ.Overall, the JBL Flip 5 punches above its weight given its affordable price point. While audiophiles may notice some limitations, it delivers very solid sound quality for everyday listening. The sturdy build and convenient portability make it a great option for an outdoor speaker. Just don't expect an extremely refined listening experience. But for the price, it's hard to beat. Hope this review helped!

I own 3 Flip 5s and use them all in multiple environments. We got rid of our HOME STEREO SYSTEM years ago and replaced it with Bluetooth speakers. I invested in a Bose system which cost hundreds of dollars. A year ago after using the Bose for about 5 years, I bought my first two Flip 5s. Granted the system they replaced was a bit old but the JBL's sounded every bit as good as the Bose for a fraction of the price. I use a single Flip 5 for my CAR AUDIO. Yes, the dynamic range is not as good as a quality car sound system but for what I listed to, its great. I teach AEROBIC CLASSES at a couple of health clubs in my area and use a pair of Flip 5s for my music tracks. The fact that they can be easily synced together in stereo, makes them perfect. They are not lacking in volume at all. The two speaker conveniently fit in my gym bag. The ONLY DRAWBACK is their dynamic balance. Mid range predominates the highs and lows. This is especially evident with vocals mixed out in front of the rest of the mix. The bass is good for a Bluetooth speaker, same for the high-end. i.e., Percussion is crisp and doesn't roll off until the higher frequencies range. I have found to enhance the bass, it the speaker is placed in a corner, the base is deeper and comes out louder. A note here, the Flip 6 version of the JBL Bluetooth lineup has an equalizer which allows the listener to set a much flatter frequency curve. OVERALL the Flip 5 is a great value for what it delivers! I own 3 of them.
