Great value for money. I am satisfied. It tightens and releases like a blood pressure machine on your arm. It is not a massage, but it seems useful enough to reduce swelling. It is especially good because you can use it all the way up to your thighs.
5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Muscle Tension Relief— Medical Grade Device
These air compression boots are fantastic. The construction is thoughtful and provides comfort to the wearer, particularly the top cuff which can be adjusted to specifically target the area of your thighs (quads, IT, etc.) that you want to focus on— while also providing the ability to use on your arms. The outside is a tight nylon weave (think sneakers) and the inside is a soft felt-like, cotton blend. For anyone whose ever had surgery and had to wear the “air boots” post-op these are similar quality, but without the chemical-y odor and hard, uncomfortable plastic.I’ll be honest that I was very surprised with how strong the compression was, and started the device on the F-3 setting, only to promptly shut it off (which thankfully it did immediately, and released pressure at once) and start again at F-1. The sequence starts at your feet and works it’s way up, cuff by cuff. The only change I would make to this is to have the device allow you to program a rolling massage that alternates between each of the cuffs vs have it sequentially follow the same pattern each time, but honestly for the price, it’s pretty great.I suffer from sciatic pain that I often compensate for with other muscles which leaves my legs very sore at the end of the day, and these provide a nice alternative to kneading my legs at bed time. The instructions are sparse, but common sense will help fill in the gaps.I recommend you ease yourself into it and suggest the following tips:(1) Velcro flap to the outside part of each foot (tag to inner thigh)(2) Velcro at a fitting but slightly loose position so you leave room for the expansion and can adjust as needed (learned this one the hard way by putting on at a form fit)(3) Have controller in hand at initial use in case you need to shut off (although the pressure does increase gradually, it can also go from comfortable to “holy s$&t!” If you have it on too high of a setting to start)(4) Don’t set the controller on your bare skin (e.g. thigh while wearing shorts) because it does get warm/hot with prolonged use(5) Unless you already use these type of devices with some regularity, I suggest only doing 2 x 15 min sessions back to back the first time. If you’re relaxing you might be tempted to reset and keep going, ‘cause “hey, I’m just sitting here reading, might as well”— you will be more sore than expected the next day!(6) These are spot clean only, so I would leave any lotions/creams for after use, so you don’t soil them. Although the material appears resilient and could probably be cleaned with a washcloth and warm water.I’ve had the boots for about a week now and am super happy with my purchase— I wish they came with a travel case/pouch, but they do fold up pretty easily and don’t take up too much room in a carry on (I used a travel shoe bag). I also have a RENPHO blue tooth scale I bought on Prime Day (which is how this item showed up on my recommendations) and know the company has very responsive and accommodating customer service as well. Decided to check these out— I’m two products in now and so far, so great!

The fact is that these are not high end. On the other hand, they are good for the price. The thighs peices are not meant for thick so there needed to be extenders and the air tube's kept getting tangled. Good thing I really only needed the lower legs and feet. Because it is adjustable, you have to play with it to get the right feel but the choices given work well once it is in the right place on your legs and feet. I did have a little trouble with the feet not depressing all the way but it did enough to get a massage feel. If you can't afford a high end, this is an option you should consider.
3.0 out of 5 stars My Velcro Fastenings Are Wearing Out Too Quickly
Before anything else: This product has made a very positive difference in my legs. Being wheelchair-bound, fluids accumulate & cause swelling in my legs, ankles & feet. Quite often I get asked if I'm diabetic because of it. Not so much anymore. I use the compression "boots" every day or 2 to force the fluids from my legs & feet, which also is like receiving a nice massage. Although I haven't used them in bed, I imagine you could do so lying down as long as you don't kink or block the air tubes. The pros:* Easy to use right out of the box* Compressor is very good (more than adequate)* Easy to understand its different modes/sequences* Boots are easy to match & put on; made of tough material* Various modes & sequences to target your whole legs, or part(s) of themThe cons:* No carrying bag for storage when not in use* The lettering on the compressor is quite small & difficult to read* The BIG one - after about 4 months of regular use, the velcro on the feet began to pop loose shortly after starting a sequence. I tried decreasing the pressure but that didn't help for very long. I was able to use a couple of bands to hold them closed - but shortly afterward the leg & thigh parts began to pop loose too. I don't have bands to keep these parts closed, yet - but the thing is, I shouldn't have to. At a $100 price this product should be able to last more than 5 or 6 months!Otherwise it's a very good product that fulfills it purpose excellently - except for the velcro fastenings. Maybe it's just this pair, but next time I hope to find something more durable even if it costs me a little extra (but not too much).* a caveat for where I said "easy to use" - I can't put them on by myself because of my condition; but my wife & caretaker put them on me & take them off with little apparent effort. It sure beats trying to wear compression socks/stockings or the hit-or-miss of wrapping my legs & feet with "Ace" pressure bandages. The socks/stockings were expensive and difficult to size & use; if not done correctly the bandages often caused gradual excruciating pain(s) shortly after wrapping. No such difficulty or pain/discomfort in using this product.
Relaxing pain relief that is faster than pain meds
Selected the upgraded version with larger billows, and a fourth intensity, even though sacrificed heat settings. I have a condition that creates much muscle pain and spasms. This makes sleeping, even resting difficult. Been looking at these for some time and finally decided on this one. Important to note is that this is not a replacement for specially trained hands it provides a compression massage. It works through inflating and deflating air billows within the wraps. The material is velvety on the inside with mesh on the outside and the billows between. There is alot of velcro to make sure it doesn't come loose with the pressure, putting that into the muscles. There are situations where the professional uses this technique to calm the muscle. These wraps use that technique to bring muscle calm. When my leg muscles are not so happy this does bring relief. I have been using these wraps a few times a day, then just before sleeping to help for some of the night. A wonderful tool to have for pain relief, even reducing some medication. These are a wonderful tool to try if you need help with foot, calf, or thigh relief. When compared with many medical aids these are affordable to try. I recommend it. Thoughts on comments and concerns left by others. Putting them on. Yes the 1st try on will take time Too tight and they would cause pain. Too loose and they wouldn’t help. So there is much adjustment to find the right spot. With the fourth intensity setting it is easier to find that right spot. Once adjusted it can be left, then slide them on and off with no adjusting needed. I learned this with many other wraps, braces, medical tools. Can it be used for more than one person? Use for multiple people would mean adjustment of the Velcro so it would take longer to get ready for each person. Imagine that marking with fine marker would give easy way to set for each person. Storage. I leave the parts together then roll the thigh portion and place into the calf then slide the controls and power plug inside. Looks like high top boots when stored. Can’t imagine when I would ever put them back into the box. Use by tall people. I am 6ft with extra long thigh bones and have no problem. Noise. The control on this model is whisper quiet. The cat purrs louder. Preset power off. 20or25 minutes. For me a better time would be short at 30 minutes and long at 60 minutes. The given reason for this short time is to let the motor cool. I have been waiting 5 minutes then turn it back on for a second session. Will this lesson its life? Only time will reveal. What to wear, or bare skin. Bare skin would work since the inner is a velvety feel, but my thought is to wear something light. My choice is bamboo or light cotton for both socks and pants. As I dress in all bamboo this is simple. Rechargeable or wired. As the foot does inflate walking is not advisable so plugging in is not a problem. Knee pain. Not really made for knees or joint paint. It provides compression massage. Putting this amount of pressure on the patella would not be comfortable. At least for me. Durability. They seem well made. Only time will tell if they last a long time. They say that there is a 12 month warranty. So even if they die in a year the price would mean it is still a very low cost medical aid.
