5.0 out of 5 stars Great product, exactly what was ordered, at a good price
Great quality product at a good price. Arrived quickly and exactly as advertised. Have not had the opportunity to test our the various blades yet, but don't see any reason why they will have any issues.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great for rotary tools, 20,000 RPM MAXIMUM!
Since I build a lot of models, rotary tool accessories are a consumable for me. I got these mainly for the HSS saw blades, which I can use in my DYI saw table. This helps me to cut wood up to 3/4" thick. It comes with six saw blades, six mandrels (the largest one is for a regular drill at 1/4"), 15 diamond cutting wheels and 15 resin cutting wheels, all packaged in a plastic case. The saw blades are marked which direction is correct for the rotation of your tool. DO NOT PUT IT IN REVERSED! It will tear up your wood piece in a heartbeat. The HSS wheels can also be used to cut aluminum, brass and other soft metals as well as styrene plastic. The diamond wheels are for glass, ceramics and gems and the resin wheels are all purpose wheels that excel on plastics and ceramics. Please note: These tools are rated for 20,000 RPM MAXIMUM! If your tool runs only at a higher speed than 20,000 RPM, you may wish to keep looking. My rotary tool runs from a minimum of 10,000 RPM up to a maximum of 32,000 in 6 steps, which works fine for what I need. These accessories also work quite well with my cordless variable speed rotary tool. Please note also, that this set does NOT come with collets for rotary tools, but most rotary tools come with several of those. The mandrels are (5) 1/8" shank and (1) 1/4" shank (for cordless or corded drills).I have been using these daily since I got the set on April 2 of 2021 and no failures of the tools or mandrels. When the saw blades finally do go dull, I will be back to order more of these. As a modeler of over 50 years experience, I will match them up against the name brand sets any day. And I give them 5 stars and heartily recommend them.JPL
4.0 out of 5 stars Be careful of the screws used for the saw blades
I was impressed with the quantity, quality and assortment. Good buy for the money. My only complaint is of the two large 4.6mm diameter screws used for the saw blades, one had a shoulder measuring 6.3mm diameter while the other screw had a shoulder measuring 5.9mm. Chinese quality control I guess. Be sure to use the correct one (6.3mm) with the saw blades else your blade will not spin true.
5.0 out of 5 stars Love these!
This is a great set of small rotary saws if you have a Dremel or similar tool. However, they cut very fast, so you need to wear protective glasses and you should be aware that they can cut you badly if you aren't careful when using these.
5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect
Nice and sharp and cuts clean.
3.0 out of 5 stars Only for light-duty cutting with an easy hand
These cutting blades are great when one needs to cut something like wood or plastic in a difficult location: I've used them myriad times already. But a Dremel tool, while high-speed, is low-torque, and you should expect these blades to bog down your tool if you try to cut too quickly—keep a light touch and go slowly. I even wonder if the use of them could shorten the life of the tool: it sure seems to heat up more than normal, possibly because of the drag of these blades. They're useful, but I advise caution: I suspect the Dremel tool is not intended for this kind of cutter head. My cutting disks never bog down on metal as these do on wood or plastic. Also, I noticed with my first use that the blade heats up and scorches FAST. After just a couple of uses, I noticed a substantial decrease in its sharpness. Nevertheless, these are an attachment that sometimes I just NEED.
5.0 out of 5 stars GOOD LITTLE SET.....AND IT DID THE JOB.....
AS STATED ABOVE.....IT IS A GOOD LITTLE SET.....AND IT DID THE JOB.....EASY TO USE.....AND IN CASE YOU WANTED TO KNOW WHAT I CUT.....I WAS CUTTING A SMALL OPENING IN AN 1/8 INCH STEEL BRACKET.....I MADE THE CUT IN A VERY ODD SPOT WITHOUT ANY ISSUES.....MY NEXT PROJECT FOR THIS SET WILL BE CUTTING SEVERAL HOLES IN A THICK PLASTIC BOX FOR SOME ELECTRONICS.....
4.0 out of 5 stars Let’s be realistic
Anyone who has used a rotary tool of any kind knows the weakest point is the mandrill. Also keep in mind that most rotary tools are for light duty work. With realistic expectations this little set does exactly what it should.Diamond cut off wheels are not all created equal:Depending on the job it is not unreasonable to go through at least 1 if not more of the wheels. The worst thing for a diamond cut off wheel is for it to disintegrate on contact. At 20K RPM that can be very destructive to your project and hands/eyes. These have not done that. They do break down just as a diamond wheel should during use.The fiber cutting wheels:I have personally used them on PCB boards and acrylic sheets and they work just fine. They aren’t any better or worse than ones I have bought from other sellers.Metal saw blades:I wouldn’t personally use the largest blades in this pack for cutting into anything other than plasterboard or something like that. The smaller ones however I have used on soft wood without a problem. The whole trick to using any type of rotary tool is a balance between the correct pressure and the cutting power of the wheel. Once the rotary tool starts to slow down the wheel no longer does its job. Keeping that in mind these wheels are rated for 20K RPM.The 2 things that can make any tool you use on your rotary tool dangerous is a bent mandrill or a disk out of center. The bent mandrill is an easy fix to avoid. Just take a look around Bolo and find a quality stainless steel mandrill. The ones you get in a kit like this I might use for buffing or really light work, but I’m sure not going to use it while cutting off an exhaust system on a car.The next thing is to make sure the disk you are using is centered when putting it on the mandrill. Sometimes this isn’t always obvious when you turn your rotary tool on. The best way to know this for sure is to slightly touch the surface of what you are cutting. If it skips or bounces then either the hole on the disk isn’t centered or it is not centered on the mandrill. I haven’t personally had any problems with any of the disks in this kit, but at the same time I am using a stainless steel mandrill and not the ones that come with this kit. With everything said and done this kit is well worth the money and I plan on buying it again.
