5.0 out of 5 stars Almost loud enough for band practice, perfect for back yard.
The sound on this thing is really cool. Round, warm, yada yada, I love the sound. I dont use the distortion. My band is not super loud, rock-folk; (bass, drums, e guitar, acc guitar, mando, accordian) for our quieter songs, this amp will keep up, at the highest, non-distorted volume. Once we get a couple drinks in us and the volume goes up, this little amp falls short. Which is fine, I didnt get it for prak, I got it for those times when we are in the back yard or a living room, etc, and the drummer plays cajon, instruments are unamplified. It's perfect for that, I love it. The light weight and compactness is great! I like it so much, I'm probly going to get one of its bigger brothers, for getting louder.

Not for the UK market! This is a power amp conected to your strings! Buy elsewhere!
Pros:- it's an old-school sounding amp (that's actually also a Con)- pretty loud for 60w (not 50w - that's the older, 7kg version) - however: see cons (8.5kg)- good frequency selections on 5-band EQ - ergo: versatile sounds- solid, fat, but also fresh sound for a tinsey 1x10" box- solid box that can handle a bump or two - however: see cons- easy to transport, and the handle is comfy enoughCons:- it's an old-school sounding amp (that's actually also a Pro) - this is not a slap, tap, or double-thumb machine (although you can!)- the distortion option is gross; I'd much rather have this amp without it- on mine the speaker farts out below C (A-string, not low-B) - worst at ~G (E-String); tried 3 basses and two cables - speaker rating 80W, so you don't pound the amp or get a limiter pedal- 230V rating (!!!) with 'Schuko' kettle lead; marked ES 230V {Spanish model?) - no 240V/220V reversible fuse as on UK models - this is a POWER amp connected to your strings; so I'd avoid - been there 😲 - Ofgem allegedly allows for spikes up to 253V as 'regular' (seriously?? 🤦♀️) - Get the UK version for the UK, don't just buy a new kettle lead- not 7kg (50W version), this 60W version weighs 8.5kg- on mine the tag for pulling of the speaker grill/cloth is missing- it is a solid box, but the speaker 'grill' is a bit light for rough handling (- but there's enough of a gap if you want to add one over the speaker)- sadly no protective bagReturning this and getting a UK-rated version directly from Ashdown. Bolo shouldn't even be selling these: in theory it has no valid warranty either - just that they are really nice at Ashdown and like being helpful. This model (at least mine) is not for the UK market! The "ES230V" label, the 230V-only fuse, and the Schuko lead suggest it's meant for Spain (although Schuko is, of course, a German design). This is a nice sounding amp, neither Class-D nor Digital, and I really like the concept. It's still light at 8.5kg, yet has a good, solid tone. The 5-band EQ is fairly effective and you get all your usual decent sounds. It's not a very modern-sounding amp; but I wasn't looking for that (I'd take my 4x10" rig for that, if I could find a forklift that fits through my front door). There's a distortion pot you can dial in - if you like the worst iteration on that theme: it'll not turn it into a tube-over-driven SVT-rig. It's decidedly gross. There are pedals for these things, if you must (or get an AC30 for that; they make for surprisingly good bass amps 😉 - wish I had kept mine).I'd rather carry less circuitry around or have a built in, mild compressor instead. But, hey, so there's a useless knob (most amps have of them - and vice versa). It's still a nice amp for a semi-acoustic set; or if you want a decent-sounding practice amp that will rattle an old Victorian or Edwardian house and get you an S21 notice. 😉One thing I'd have liked to have had be a wedge to tilt it; but there's ways around that (like side-brackets). I know some amps offer this, but sound and weight were more important. It fits under the chair I'm going to be sitting on.Sadly, the 10" version doesn't have space for a DI-out, as its larger brethren have. But it's not designed to be used as a large-stage amp anyway, and most people would find it too quiet for monitoring. If it's 'that loud' up there, I'd wear in-ears anyway. If it hadn't been for me not wanting 253V+ shooting into a 230V transformer (or blowing the 250V fuse), and if the speaker wasn't farting out, I'd probably just have used the kettle lead from my larger main amp. I'm sure a 16A plug isn't legal in the UK.This is all dodgy (by no fault of Ashdown's, I must add! They've been wonderful!) reshuffling of stock without taking whack-heads that allow 253V spikes into account, Bolo. I've already had the pleasure of playing a gig on leakage current; it is NOT pleasant - ergo ipso facto colombo oreo, I'm lucky I'm still alive!Ehrm, not to again rub in the 'warranty' advertised on the product page.Booking a pickup for next week.
