5.0 out of 5 stars The best barefoot shoes for its price.
Used them for the trail running a few times. Great shoes. Maybe not the best for hard trails in forests with dirt etc. But they are great just for walking, light trail runs.Design is great and very comfortable to use and lace up. Size is perfect. Checked it with size guide.Definitely will take more shoes of this brand. It's the best barefoot shoes for this price range!
5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic shoe, questionable sizing.
I’ve only had these shoes for a few weeks but I can say they are very comfortable and seem pretty durable. They’re nearly as comfortable as a pair of house slippers and I literally wear them everywhere. My first pair was the black color with the brown soles and I loved them so much I ordered the green pair for variety. The only issue I had was that the sizing was quite different between the two pairs. I’m a size 10.5 and WHITIN recommended sizing down if you’re between. The black pair I ordered a size 10 and they fit absolutely perfect. I then ordered a size 10 in green and they were uncomfortably small even though it’s the same shoe/style. I sent back the 10 in exchange for an 11 and the 11 fits perfect. I really do love these shoes and will likely order more in the future. The only bummer is that I’ll probably have to just order both sizes and return the one that doesn’t fit. I hate the extra hassle but the shoe and the price are great.
4.0 out of 5 stars Very comfortable and durable
Bought this pair over 5 months ago and still wear them. Best purchase I’ve made. Due to the fact my feet were actually spreading apart which is good since your feet spread more bare. My feet are fairly wide and I struggle wearing other trendy shoes due to having wide feet. They are perfect for your daily walk or jog. As far running I’m getting that full barefoot experience without having to take off my shoes. Definitely requires getting used to before running if you are new to it. They broke in well and secured to my feet. One thing to note about these is the grip on these shoes. I would not recommend wearing these in the rain. I had multiple times where I almost slipped on a smooth surface. While on concert it isn’t as bad but you will feel a bit unstable running or walking. As for using these at the gym they are decent just not the best for squats or deadlifts. Since I catch myself having to fix my leg positioning due slightly slipping. Maybe it’s due to lifting heavy, like anything above 300lb would be the limit. Overall very good shoes gives your feet enough space while secured and no issues having any blisters. Theres definitely some improvement my foot arch. I have a really flat feet and I just been loving it since. If you want something affordable; this pair is definitely the one!
5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing! Light. Durable. Comfortable.
Paired with toe socks, this lightweight hiking shoe provides wonderful stability and grip on trails with rocks, dust, roots, pebbles, mud, streams... At a third of the price of FiveFingers, these shoes are a stunning value. And very comfortable as well! While I had low expectations, I was blown away by how functional and comfortable these shoes are. The minimalist design is augmented by what appears to be a strange outline of your toes at the front end. Yet there is no conforming toe shape in the sole. So what gives? This unique design shines when you are hiking on a steep decline -- when you usually find your toes painfully jammed to the front wall of the toe box. Not with these! Your toes (if you are barefoot or wearing toe socks) find a comfortable spot in those little carveouts for your toesies! Genius! The soles provide both amazing grip on all manner of slippery terrain: dusty uphills, gravelly downhills, wet rocks in streams, muddy patches. As an avid hiker on a wide spectrum of trails for more than 50 years, I don't ever recall feeling so confident in my shoes/boots, or so comfortable. While these are very lightweight, the soles are tough. I could 'sense' roots and rocks and stones but had ZERO pain or discomfort traversing them.I have ordered more pairs and more versions of this shoe. I am eager to try more Whitin minimalist shoes with their wide toe boxes. There is a dizzying variety of Whitin shoes here. And the product descriptions are confusingly similar so differentiating them is a challenge. But! If you are a serious hiker, give these shoes a try! Expect your feet and body to thank you!
5.0 out of 5 stars Comfortable
I like the quality and the design of these shoes. Very comfortable and great for riding my bike and playing with my dog. Bought another pair liked them so much. Easy to put on and take off and they breathe well so as not to have foot slipping in your shoe. Great grip on any surface
3.0 out of 5 stars 6 Month Shoes (You Get What You Pay For)
I've gone through two pairs of these shoes, and I must say they fit nice and are good imitators of more expensive brands. They are comfortable, fit well, and I like the velcro straps.Style wise, I am not a huge fan of how the rubber of the sole comes up and 'caps' the toes. Looks kind of weird. I can't tell you the amount of people that thought I was wearing 'toe shoes', like Vibram popularized. I just stopped correcting people after a while. The downside is, you get what you pay for. Both pairs of my Whitins expired right around the 6 month landmark. I used them for some light running, exercise, every day stuff, and sometimes took them in the water or mud, but nothing too serious. They just start to fall apart. The soles start to come unglued from the rest of the shoe, and in both pairs this began to happen a couple months in, but only really became an issue after 6 months. I suppose I could have worn them a little longer, but they were dilapidated. If you can pay twice as much for a pair of Vivo Barefoot shoes, I would highly recommend. Coming up on one year and the Vivo is still going strong, so, it's at least as good value wise as these shoes. In summary, fine way to ease myself into the barefoot realm, but there are much better shoes out there.
