I was on the fence getting this since it is mainly for aesthetics or style rather than function. Good news is that if you save the materials, you can switch colors whenever you want since the top cover attaches by magnets and you can easily pull it off. The color card is simply placed underneath with two overlapping pieces of metal on the top cover to hold it in. A magnetic top cover bracket is slid onto the heatsink with a clip that holds on underneath the second fin from the top.Function wise, this does help with airflow as it works like a duct. It prevents your fan from quickly recirculating air that has barely made it in the heatsink, and forces the air to the far side of the heatsink where it can finally escape. Fans on the other side are setup to exhaust hot air so this works well in my setup. For my epyc build this looks a bit odd since the cpu socket is turned to help with ram airflow. Overall, I would definitely recommend this if you want the style, rather than the little function due to the high cost of the item compared to the price of what it attaches to.

Ordered this new, received one that might have been used. The inserts are double sided, with one color on each side. There's a peel-to-remove plastic film and an attached tab to make it easy to remove the film for the color you want to display. But one of the inserts had no tab on it and the firm was really difficult to remove as a result. Did someone break off the tab and return it before I bought it?Nice design, but questionable supply chain.
