5.0 out of 5 stars I thought it was nice enough for what it is, and the price
I've been reading the reviews and I wish the negative reviewers would share where they get their matcha from, because I would like to try it....I feel that the taste of this matcha is in line with what you should expect from a Fukuoka blend, its buttery, very smooth, no lingering, bitter aftertaste. It is true there is not as much umami as you might hope for, but there was also virtually no astringency, which is my main concern with taste. So I am satsfied in that department. The color is deep- but vibrant, the powder is very fine and I had no trouble at all building up a beautiful head of foam relatively quickly.I think for a beginner it's very approachable, this may not be suitable for the Emperor of Japan (or the exceedingly refined matcha connoisseurs of the Bolo review section) but for the price this is a decent, drinkable tea.So long as my matcha is sourced from Japan ( since they are the only ones who can really get this drink right at this point in time) and gives me the flow state energy/zen feeling I have become addicted to since begining my matcha ritual- I can't think of any good reason to complain...I do intend to continue sampling and tasting other brands, but I would probably order this again at some point as well.
5.0 out of 5 stars Mellow, balanced, great price point
My husband travels to Japan occasionally for work, and I requested he bring back a quality matcha in order to have a standard to gage other brands by. As a beginner, I had tried a couple of low quality/inexpensive brands to see how they were. And I never wanted to taste them again. This was the perfect opportunity to understand why people get excited about matcha. A colleague from Japan helped him find a reputable shop and he brought back a high quality matcha for me. I drank it straight, prepared (to my best ability) with the translated directions from the shop, and I sat down and really enjoyed that bowl of matcha.Although I have not committed to opening the second packet that he purchased (for savoring purposes), and therefore have not done a side-by-side comparison between this product and my “standard,” I can say that the Naoki Yame Blend Ceremonial Grade Matcha is an excellent blend for its price. As someone who is working toward opening a coffee/tea house, this matcha really is delicious, mellow (not bitter/sea-weedy), slightly sweet on its own, and I enjoy it straight or with frothed milk…I don’t even add syrup, it is just pleasant. If you are looking for an everyday matcha that is enjoyable in multiple forms, this one is a great option.
5.0 out of 5 stars Pretty packaging and good quality
Matcha arrived in a sealed silver bag inside the can with golden lettering. Can was sealed too. Because of the packaging it would be a really nice gift. I'm no expert but the flavor seems to me to be richer than my previous market choices. I'll buy again
4.0 out of 5 stars Very smooth, but lacks richness
This matcha is very smooth, in both flavor and texture. There is basically no bitterness or astringency to found, it sifts very easily, and wisks into the water wonderfully, creating a nice silky liquid. The one thing I noted when drinking it thin (Usucha was the lack of depth in flavor. There was some sweetness, naturally from the tea leaves, but no hint of umami, no nutty flavor, the vegetal flavor was also very light. It was very weak tasting, almost watery. I did try this as a thicker tea, not quite Koicha, but close. It was still not bitter, so that was good, the natural sweetness increased, as did the vegetal flavor, like that of fresh pea pods. This matcha does not have the savory umami flavors that some others have, which can be a good thing. Depending on my mood, I actually prefer the sweetness of this. But, being so weak is what prevents me from fully loving it. Having to use double the matcha to achieve the any richness of flavor means I'm spending twice the amount for this matcha in the end.
5.0 out of 5 stars Favorite matcha by far
I recently switched from the Naoki superior blend to the fragrant yame blend. The superior blend was already great, but the fragrant yame is AMAZING. It is very smooth and has a strong, great flavor. I recommend it for anyone who loves matcha and wants to step it up a little. I can enjoy the flavor without any sweetener. Now I’ll never be able to go back.
5.0 out of 5 stars Yummy!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Quality & Taste
The quality and taste of this product is amazing. It blends well, I do smoothies with it, latte, iced lemonade or just as a tea. Great product. A+++ You would not regret it. Good Job NaokiP.SThis product has a smoother taste due to the fragrance, very good and nice touch.
5.0 out of 5 stars The best tasting & caffeinated Matcha there is
I've been a fan of matcha for years, and I drink this brand daily (as well as have purchased it for multiple matcha-loving friends!) The flavor is soft and delicate, not too bitter or too sweet, the caffeine is STRONG but doesn't have a comedown or keep me up at night. It doesn't need a sweetener, I drink it with water & a little unsweetened coconut milk. I've been drinking this regularly for the last 5 months, and I hope they stay in business because I'm a huge fan! Good for both experienced drinkers and new drinkers. I buy the "Fragrant Yame Blend – Authentic Japanese First Harvest Ceremonial Grade". (here is a pic next to a nixie for color reference)
