Pros:#1 for me would be, Dolby Atmos and DTS Neural:X both work in Windows 10!!! I was nervous when another user said it didn't work. Setting up on Windows 10 was a little time consuming, because I had to basically play around with a bunch of settings, but none the less it WORKS!!Has Treble and Bass adjustments along with VOICE. Voice adjustments is a must have, I can hear people talking clearly now, unlike the last receiver(I had to adjust the EQ).Easy to setup receiver with onscreen displays. The setup mic makes things easier.If I don't turn on the Receiver, my PC defaults to my tv speakers!! This is a must, the bass for certain exercise YouTube videos is deep and wouldn't want to wake the entire house in the morning.Has an audio select button to select my onboard sound card(rca input) or my graphics card(HDMI input)! Finally found this small button on the lower half of the remote (took me a minute, but it's there).Sounds like a movie theater with my 5.1.2 setup and Dayon B652 speakers and 10" sub.I am completely dumb founded. My son and his friend blew up my Yamaha RX-V373 5.1, I have to tell you, what a complete difference with this receiver, it's like night and day....and I acutally thought the Yamaha sounded great.I can't read the small display on the receiver so the info button on the remote is a help. Push info button and as indicated in the pic a popup occurs in the lower rt hand corner displaying the sound format.Blurays are also flawless as figured.Has a feature to cap off at a certain max volume. Sorry son, no more blowin up my speakers.The sound is clear and loud. I haven't had the volume over 65 yet, that is way too loud. Between 30-50 for my small 15 x 15 area. I can't imagine going up to 75 let along 100, something would definately blow?? I absolutely couldn't be happier!!Negative:Too much bass :)Will get warm when playing heavy stuff, I wonder if I can add a usb fan with that usb port in the back of the receiver?
5.0 out of 5 stars Yes, Atmos does work if correctly setup
Cut to the chase: this affordable unit can produce Dolby Atmos with older, conventional speakers (maybe fewer speakers, but we used five plus a base unit, ie 5.1). The tiny blue light will come on to show this when everything is set up correctly for Atmos, but there are a number of steps necessary to accomplish this.If you have a US model and, more importantly, the serial number has the letter “B” before it on the back of the unit, then you do not need to update the firmware, nor can you. Don’t even try; it is a waste of time.Primer for getting Atmos: you need this tuner correctly set up and a source that supports Atmos. For the tuner, you will need HDMI 2.0 or better cable for the source connection. Optical will not support Dolby Atmos. For example of the source, on Bolo Prime, season 4 of Jack Ryan shows the Atmos icon in the general specifications (info) screen. At least on Bolo Prime, newer content one would expect to have Atmos will not unless the Dolby Atmos logo is seen.Important: With Atmos content playing, you must have the unit Input Format, and Listening Mode set to Atmos. There is an A/B zone button on the remote that has three modes: A, B, or AB. The receiver must show A (not B or AB) for the audio output destination. With it set to A, you can now toggle the listening formats/modes (see page 59 of the manual), which include Atmos. If not set to the zone A, trying to toggle the listening mode will show “not available.” You will never get Atmos!Some reviewers say they never get Atmos; the setting of this AB zone switch may be the issue. The manual doesn’t state any of this, we only found this by trial and error and trying all kinds of button combinations on the remote. Since the display on the receiver is pretty tiny, be sure the audio output destination is set to A (see page 10 of the manual), and then try toggling through Movie/TV modes (see photo). When getting the Atmos signal, the tiny blue light will be on throughout the show.
