5.0 out of 5 stars First Time Mounting A Monitor, Easy Peasy!
As the title says, this was my first time mounting a monitor. Actually I have never mounted anything! I usually keep my monitors on their stand or TV's on a console.I recently purchased a Dell S2721D to use as a dual monitor and larger screen for my Steam Deck. Unfortunately the base of the monitor stand was HUGE! It also only allowed the screen to tilt up or down, I needed more.So a quick search on Bolo and I found this stand, what intrigued me was that it used gas for tension instead of coils. It also had a huge range of motion and tons of good reviews and was very affordable.Come day of delivery I unboxed it, read the instructions and went to work. First piece of paper included separately from the instruction manual was directions on what to do if your desk has a metal frame and then wood boards on top of the frame. This was my case, I needed to take an extra step to make sure the base of the mount was secure to my desktop. The instructions suggested using either a piece of wood to place under the desk next to the frame or a book, this way there is something there the same thickness of the wood + frame which would allow the gromet of the stand to catch onto something instead of just the lip of the metal frame.I went with a thick book and it secured perfectly! Next step was to remove the plastic frame from the lower arm and the upper arm so I could feed my wires through. This is where I hit a slight snag, the screw for the bottom arm was in an awkward area, the provided Allan key/Phillips head combo was too small to get a good fit into the screw head and only took a couple of twists to realize it could strip the screw head. Luckily I had a different screw driver and with a little effort I was able to get the screw out and the piece open.I placed my two HDMI wires and the power wire through the top cover first, made sure there was enough slack at the top and then screwed the plate back onto the top arm making sure it was not too tight. Then I pulled the cables down through the bottom plastic plate and screwed it back onto the bottom arm. Once I knew I had enough slack I tightened both covers.Next up was actually mounting the monitor. I removed the 4 screws that were already in the monitor and replaced them with the screws provided with the stand as they had larger heads. I screwed in the top two just enough to keep them secure and then hung the monitor onto the top of the plate which was secured to the arm, think hanging a picture frame. Now that the monitor was hanging on the plate, I slowly let go of the monitor as to avoid having the arm slam down or dropping the monitor which is a little less than 10 pounds. It hung with no issue, the arm didn't even go down in the slightest ( there's that gas power! ).I then secured the bottom two screws to the plate and tightened the top two screws, we were fully secured! I plugged in the power, the two HDMI cords and then rotated the screen 90 degrees to make it vertical and make sure I had enough slack for the monitor to rotate that far without causing pressure on the cords. Once that was done I pulled more of the cords down through the arms.Last step was to reduce the tension of the arm so that the arm could move up and down without too much force. I reduced it just enough to allow full movement yet keep the monitor in its place once released. Now I have full motion of the monitor, I can move it almost anywhere I need to to have the best view possible. This stand is solid, functional and the best bang for your buck!
5.0 out of 5 stars Sometimes you get MORE than you paid for.
From start to finish, this was a surprise. The packaging was perfect with each part being separated. The product parts are made of very strong and high quality materials. The instructions were very simple and it was a breeze to set up within minutes. There were screws included for the back of the monitor and the mount can be connected while it's already on the desk, making it very easy to hang the monitor on the mount with only the top two screws and then tighten in the bottom two screws afterwards. In the end, it functioned well and looks great on the desktop. Personally, I'm using this to hold a 34 inch monitor and it's doing the job just fine. The weight of the monitor is only 15 lb so it still fits within the weight limit of this device. I hope this helps others decide on what they like in an affordable yet high quality product. I would highly suggest this to anyone.
5.0 out of 5 stars Easy installation, works great
I have installed this as well as the two-armed version (on a different desk). It's simple to set up, adjust, and holds its position securely. Very happy with this purchase and the additional desk space I gained.
4.0 out of 5 stars Solid value mount with some nagging nitpicks
Setup is pretty straightforward. Height and right/left adjustment is smooth and easy and the clamp feels very secure. Vesa connection to the monitor isn't the best I've seen but gets the job done. There are a couple things that are noticeable and degrade the experience. My biggest problem is the tilt adjustment. Tilting the monitor up and down, especially up, is much less smooth and instead requires much more force to get it moving and then it suddenly snaps into movement, making a loud crack that makes me panic that it damaged my monitor. So far nothing has happened, but it doesn't instill confidence long term.Second, if your monitor is fairly light, the arm has a tendency to want to raise on its own as its expecting a much higher weight monitor, and it persists even after adjusting tension to the minimum. The last thing is small but the cable management is pretty poor. The top section has to be unscrewed which is tedious compared to other arms I've used, and the bottom section is too small to fit larger cables such as an HDMI into.Overall its still a very good arm for the price, and I'd struggle to find better value at this price point. These problems are only likely to bother you if you adjust your monitor position often like I do.
5.0 out of 5 stars Works great
Great quality. Easy to put together and mount to your desk. Adjustment was easy. I have a 27 inch monitor on it and it holds it effortlessly. Judging by how far I had to turn the power down on the lift arm id say it'll last for a long long time.
5.0 out of 5 stars Ergonomic and Affordable: A Great Investment with Minor Cable Management Quirks
I recently purchased the HUANUO Single Monitor Mount for my 27-inch monitor, and it has significantly improved my workspace setup. The gas spring arm allows for smooth and effortless adjustments, making it easy to find the perfect height and angle for my screen. The VESA mounting system was straightforward to install, and the overall build quality feels very sturdy and durable. The mount's ergonomic design has greatly reduced the strain on my neck and shoulders, and the flexibility to switch between portrait and landscape modes is a nice touch. My desk feels more spacious and organized now that my monitor is off the surface. However, I do have a minor critique regarding the cable management system. While it does include basic features to route cables, I found it a bit challenging to keep everything tidy and out of sight. The clips provided are helpful, but they could be a bit more robust to handle thicker cables or multiple connections.Overall, I'm very satisfied with this monitor mount. It's a great investment for anyone looking to enhance their ergonomic setup, despite the slight room for improvement in cable management. Highly recommended!
Great value
Easy to install and works great. Just remember to not to screw the clamp too tight if you need to adjust it or its hard to untighten. . Would recommend to place a small piece of cardboard in-between. Note that has nothing to do with the quality of this product as it’s excellent.
Súper útil
Le monté un monitor de 32 pulgadas y lo ha sostenido sin problemas, es fácil de instalar y ajustar, se siente bastante sólida con el monitor.
Outstanding monitor arm
It's a simple product, but you'll be surprised how many duff products are out there without any quality control. This is holding up my 27" monitor without any issues at all.It takes a bit of tweaking to adjust the gas pressure, but once done you can forget about it. Height, swivel, and orientation adjustments work like a dream. This has opened up a lot of space on my desk. There are some complaints about the cable management, but I've had no issues feeding the following cables: kettle lead, HDMI, and webcam.I would totally recommend.
