5.0 out of 5 stars Pliable and colorful!
These are a wonderful value. The colors are vivid and fun, with plenty of silvers and golds for more neutral pieces. The metal is soft enough that I can loosen and tighten it with my fingers, but still sturdy enough to hold it's shape once clasped. I appreciate not having to use pliers for each jump ring. It saves me a ton of time!
1.0 out of 5 stars Absolute Garbage
Nearly all of the rings were deformed from being tangled together, and they could not be used without reshaping them around something round. The wire is INCREDIBLY flimsy. I wouldn’t recommend these to anyone, especially a beginner—the rings are just too tricky to work with for chainmail, and it’s more likely to turn someone off of the hobby. The colors are nice, but not worth the hassle of dealing with the quality of the rings themselves.
4.0 out of 5 stars Flimsy but colorful
The rings are very flimsy but I am making earrings with them, so this didn't bother me. There are lots of nice colors in this set and they arrived very neatly separated in a plastic box.I would recommend this set for people that are using them for something that will not be pulled on. They are easy to manipulate with so they might also be useful to practice new chainmaille weaves.
5.0 out of 5 stars Bright colors
Softer than expected but workable. Colors are stunning.
2.0 out of 5 stars Nice colors, weak rings
The colors are nice, but the rings are so weak they cannot support anything. They can easily be torn apart by bare fingers. Not worth the money.
3.0 out of 5 stars Very soft metal
The metal is so soft you can squish the rings with your fingers. They're also all open very wide its challenging to close them all the way and keep it in a nice uniform circle. it easily squishes to a hard to fix shape when closing the ring because its so soft and open so far. Quite unhappy with how these came.
5.0 out of 5 stars Lots of options
Thin gauge. I have to be careful not to over muscle these rings.
1.0 out of 5 stars Beautifully colored box of deformed jump rings
The media could not be loaded. I’m a full time jewelry maker who has recently broken into chainmail. I’ve never worked with aluminum, preferring stainless steel or copper so I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect with this material. That being said, I have a few problems with these jump rings.1.) These rings are soft enough to bend with your fingernails, no tools required. Absolutely would not hold up in jewelry.2.) Half of the rings are horribly deformed which makes them *almost* unusable. You can see in the video, I took a deformed jump ring and put it mostly back to normal. I would be able to overlook this if not for my first complaint.3.) I’m new to the whole concept of aspect ratio so take this with a a grain of salt, however, I bought these rings for the Byzantine weave and the AR is completely off. Would probably work for European 4 in 1 but then you run into my first complaint again. It would never hold up.If you’re a beginner looking for some easy rings to practice with that will look nice, have at it. If you’re looking for durability, don’t bother.
