5.0 out of 5 stars Get 2 if you have more than 1 kid!
We purchased another brand for our 7 year old for Christmas. It was a hit, and its held up. Well, the neighborhood kids she plays with also loved it so she was sharing so often that she barely got ride time herself. The other brand was sold out so we ended up selecting this one. It is just as great. It's charger recently stopped working so I've been using the other charger for both(I have to order another charger). The only downside I have is that 2 really isn't enough...hahaha. With the amount of 7/8 year olds on my street, we definitely need at least 1 more! The battery lasts better than expected for a relatively inexpensive electric scooter. We have had hoverboards that don't last half of the time these do. Definitely recommend!
5.0 out of 5 stars Good stuff
Two days in so far so good, I thought the button control wasn’t great but turns out that they are very convenient, fast enough for my 8 year old for her first scooter
5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful light effects and Bluetooth!
The media could not be loaded. Really easy to assemble out of box. Didn't take long. Feels very sturdy. It features beautiful light modes, we really love the soft rainbow mode. Looks lovely and adds safety to riding at night. Another fun feature was the Bluetooth to connect to music while riding. So much fun.
4.0 out of 5 stars Battery dies after 3 months and won't charge
The scooter was great, while it lasted. I bought this scooter for my son at the end of March 2024. He loved riding it. It has so many great features and drives smooth. Here recently (now July 2024) I can no longer get the scooter to charge. For a $200 price tag, I expected it to last much longer than 3 months. We've made sure to take good care of it (not riding through water, storing it properly, and not overcharging it. So I've reached out to customer support 3 times in the past in the past 10 days hoping to get a new battery or a new charger or a new scooter, but NO ONE WILL RESPOND. Buy at your OWN RISK because customer support is lacking. Now I have a dead $200 scooter sitting in my garage and a disappointed 8 year old son who hasn't bee able to ride it this summer.UPDATE: After multiple attempts with customer service, I was finally able to get a new scooter from Bolo. The new scooter runs fine, although I haven’t had to recharge it yet. I’m very hopeful that this one will last longer than 3 months. The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars yet is because it took 29 days of back-and-forth communication between myself, GoTrax customer service, and Bolo to even get the new scooter. I’ll be willing to increase to 5 stars in the future if the new scooter battery lasts.
5.0 out of 5 stars My girl’s first electric scoot!
Set up was little hassle because the plug connecting the steering handle and folding pole did not work well. But customer care did a good job in fixing the problem for me.Charged it for couple of hrs before my daughter started using it. She love the fact we could play music via Bluetooth speakers. With a dependable battery that keeps the fun going for hours, it's a reliable companion for countless adventures. Designed for curious souls, this scooter isn't just about wheels—it's about sparking imagination and nurturing independence.
5.0 out of 5 stars My kid loves this!
This has a great battery life and is easy to use by child!
1.0 out of 5 stars Does not work
This product does not work. Ordered it a year ago and we were barely able to use it because it doesn't hold charge. I contacted customer service for help and they sent a new battery. It still did not work. I let them know it doesn't work still so they sent me a new charging port piece that took a while to come. The charging port came with no instructions and I am not an electrician to know how to open up the scooter and install it. At this point the scooter is useless. It was a big waste of money to order it.
5.0 out of 5 stars Well built and just the right size for older kids
I was shopping for an electric scooter for my 4' 8" daughter. I almost considered buying a full size scooter, but they are really meant for kids 13 and older. In addition, there are many more controls which could overwhelm someone coming from an unpowered kick scooter. You can limit the speed to ~9mph, but it's easy to override if you have a curious enough kiddo. We looked at some options from razor, but they were either too expensive, or too awkwardly styled for my daughter's tastes. This is where the Gotrax GKS fit the bill perfectly. It is priced *very* reasonably for a well built electric scooter. Assembly was a breeze, four bolts to hold the front wheel on, and four bolts to undo and redo to put the handlebar on. I also like that the handlebar is keyed, so it self centers during installation. After that, we put it on the charger for the initial 5 hour charge. Well, we tried to wait 5 hours, but after 2 hours, the light on the charger was green, so I let her go for a quick spin down the street. Her first impressions:- Very easy to ride, the switches on the deck were easy for her to push down and required very little adaptation from how she used to ride her kick scooter.- Shockingly quiet. We both thought it wasn't working at first, but then she accelerated off with nary a whisper.- Acceleration is smooth. She was pretty happy with how softly it accelerates after you kick off it.- Easy to brake. Having a brake just like her old kick scooter made it easy for her to feel safe with braking.- Feel heavy. At 17 pounds, it's not light, but she doesn't mind the heft. It's a bit more effort when pushing around unpowered, but it does seem to glide fairly well. I'm glad we didn't go with a bigger scooter, from what I saw, the ones were were looking at were 27-30 pounds.- Looks pretty cool. She loves blue, and this has enough blue to make her happy. I even asked her if she was going to sticker it up, and she surprisingly said that it looks good as it is.We'll update this review over time once we get a better idea of battery life and reliability, but so far, we're off to a great start.
Solid built e scooter
Very well built e scooter! It is very easy to assemble and the parts fit well together. Speed is great—the speed actually exceeds my expectation! Overall, it is a safe speed for kids the scooter is designed for, and yet fast enough for kids to have fun. Braking is good and the scooter is very maneuverable. My son loves this e scooter! And I’m very happy with it’s performance.
Well made and quick enough for kids!
Perfect for kids aged between 6-10 years. I actually bought 2 of these and they are perfect for my daughters aged 7 and 9 years old.The build is quite sturdy and compared to other scooters in the price range the battery is completely hidden and it looks like a normal scooter at first glance.Goes up to 16-17 kmh, measured by GPS. The battery seems to last a while and I haven't run it down after about 10 km. However, a battery life indicator somewhere on the scooter would have been useful but there is none. You should stay around your neighborhood or bring the charging cable with you (it is very small) if you plan to go far.
Amazing scooter but....
Had for close to a year and has been great. Nothing against the company but not sure how to get in touch with the company thru Bolo to purchase a replacement part. Held up really well for an 8 year old, so willing to buy. Fully recommend this product.
My costumer point 4/5
Good packaging, no any damaged on the product.Good thing: Battery life is longer than I expect. Easy to setup for first time.Bad things: Charger plug in protection plastic cover, it's come by self out when you riding. (I added picture of that area)On the left and right there is light reflection for night but why there is no any light reflection front side and specially back side for safety? My costumer pont is 4/5
Foot placement to make it go.
I bought this because it seemed like it was going to be a good unit. It is very reliable and very durable. There is no thumb throttle. You need to use your feet to make it go. Feet must be placed in the correct position to make it go. The throttle can not be modulated. All or nothing. Like a on/off switch. Modulation is done by removing foot on and off of pad that makes it go. Some of my daughter’s friends can’t figure it out. They spend time looking at their feet instead of where they are going. It takes a bit of practice. But does work very well. Customer service is excellent. They have reached out several times about my review. I have edited my review for more clarification. As to why I did not give it 5 stars.
