I bought it to maintain and charge the batteries on my BMWs, especially as we’re approaching colder spells that can wear a battery down. One of my cars gave me a “charge battery” indication, and I wanted something that would restore my battery to full charge and optimum performance better than an hour of driving on the highway.The design of the Noco Genius 10 is surprisingly compact and lightweight. Usage is intuitive, which is good because it comes with no owners manual or documentation about how to use it. I scrolled to the AGM setting and was good to go. The battery was restored and fully charged within two hours. I also like that it has maintainer and desulfator functions like I found on more expensive CTEK units I was considering.My only major complaints are that the power cable isn’t particularly long and I needed to use a short extension cord (heavy duty 12awg) to reach the power outlet and that the clips were a little fussy to attach securely to the positive terminal and a ground connection. I did appreciate that the charger would not work until a proper ground connection was made (a feature my old Die Hard unit lacked).

I bought this unit to attempt to rejuvenate a bad 12 volt lead acid car battery. The battery is about 1-1/2 years old and is likely covered under warranty, but I wanted to try to determine why my batteries are failing so often. The first problem is that I have two vehicles that get driven less than once a month. The alarms, stereos, and onboard computers steadily drain the batteries even when not driven. From what I have read, this is the worst thing you can do to a car battery. Sources state that a sulfate coating develops on car batteries when there is a steady draw on power and the battery is allowed to drain down without being recharged on a regular basis. Main symptoms were low cranking amps and going dead one to two days after charging. One of the features of this unit is its "repair" mode which provides an electronic pulse cycle that is known to break down this sulfate coating and restore some of the batteries service life. While there are several failure modes to a battery that cannot be fixed by this method, this common abuse of a battery (infrequent driving) can often be reversed and restore some battery life. The results so far (I am still working on it) indicate I have restored the battery to about 75% of its new condition. The repair cycles are: 1) Charge the battery using this device, 2) Use the "repair" mode of this device to desulfate the battery, 3) Test the battery (using a battery tester I bought on Bolo), 4) Discharge the battery by attaching a headlight, 5) Repeat 1-4. Each time I repeat the cycles (3 times so far) the battery's condition improves. I understand I will not be able to restore the battery to a new condition, but it appears to be able to return to service at this point. I give this a 5 start rating due to 1) The manual, while brief, is well written (a rarity) and contains the basic information needed, 2) The charging cycle works very well and should protect the battery from overcharging, 3) The device works on a number of different battery types, 4) It does everything (so far) that it claims it can.

The design is excellent, and the construction is solid. It is user-friendly and effectively fulfills its purpose. This is a product worth keeping. This is the third battery charger I have owned, and it is by far the best one I’ve had.

This has been a really good trickle charger. It's got a ton of stuff I can do and 6 and 12 V automatic doesn't over. Doesn't overcharge maintains my battery all through the winter very nice clamps very sturdy very well. Designed very easy to operate. This is not something you use to charge your car battery fast if your battery is dead this is for maintaining your car batteries.

this device recovered a couple of batteries thought to be dead. and maintained the one on my other car (which is not moving atm due to other issues) pretty well, its also pretty heavy, so im surprised, for $100+, it behaves better than most high end shop chargers

Purchased this for charging and maintaining the aging Optima yellow top batteries in my diesel truck. They went from weak to ALIVE overnight! Once I figured out how to connect the Noco in parallel connected batteries, it keeps them ready to go in without worry. I also purchased the ring/eyelet adapter, so it’s literally just plug in without the alligator clips. With the option of 6v and the added 12v power supply, this Noco is outstanding! It saved me hundreds of dollars on new batteries (for now). The biggest downfall is the lack of included instructions, but they are available online with a quick search.

I'm an otr trucker. I'm out for 2 - 4 weeks at a time. My lawn mower wouldn't start. My personal truck would go into battery saving mode when turned off for the last two years.I was able to get my mower started and stop my truck from going into battery saving mode with this charger. Oddly enough it only took about an hour on each to resolve my problems. The lawn mower starts and my truck hasn't given me a notification that it entered battery saving mode in a week.Great charger, got it on an excellent sale. Make sure to read instructions and watch youtube videos as needed.*Truck went into battery saving mode after writing this. Will have to give it another run.
Good battery charger/maintainer

This unit works best inside imo. The built-in power cord doesn't like the cold (-10celsius) and becomes very rigid. That being said, it’s easy to select which type of battery to be serviced. The desulfation/repair mode can make a difference with some non-AGM batteries, it is worth trying it to revive your old battery before purchasing a new one. The unit feels super solid and doesn’t become « hot » to the touch when in use which is a sure sign of quality electronic components. I have also a smaller unit from a different company that i like to use as a small trickle charger/maintainer under the hood. This NOCO 10 is way to big to fit under the hood of most cars as a permanent upgrade, its more like a shop size unit with more power. I wonder how any serious driver can drive a vehicle in Canadian winter without the ability to recharge/service their own car battery’s.

Not a UK version
This is not a UK version, something that really should be made clear.Still, it was simple (if tedious) enough to fit a UK plug. No earth wire - not sure if that's an issue, but I'm not an electrician.Works just the same as the Genius 5 I already have, charges fairly fast and well, and with no fuss. It tops my fairly big battery up in a few hours.It works, and reliably. My car starts strongly every time, even after a long period of lying then given a top up charge. Enough said.Excellent charger, quicker than the Genius 5 (which still did the job, only slower) but annoying that I had to read the small print to realise I'd been mis-sold a US version.
