5.0 out of 5 stars Great little scanner
This scanner works great! So far, I have used it to scan DVD bar codes (over 500), ISBN numbers (so far, just under 100) and some QR codes, but it has been 100% flawless. It also scans really fast (under 1 second). It can store scanned codes locally (up to 10,000 codes supposedly, I have only tested this with a few codes so far and it worked) and later dump all the scanned codes to your computer, or it can transmit them immediately to your computer either wirelessly via Bluetooth or directly via a USB (and charging) cable. I've had it for 4 months now, and it is still working great. Excellent scanner at a great price!
5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely awesome!!!
I bought this when the scanner at my husbands business began to show signs of age and use, including the tethered power cable wouldn’t stay plugged inEnter this wireless wonder!!It easily picks up bar codes and the range is great!! Hope to say we are this happy with it 6 months down the road!!
5.0 out of 5 stars Greatest wireless scanner on the market!
This scanner is so fast, i developed an inventory system for a 20k square foot wood shop and incorporated this scanner with my software. It works from ANYWHERE in the shop. I got off work early yesterday and wanted to see how big the range was for the scanner. I WALKED DOWN THE STREET AWAY FROM OUR FACILITY AND IT WORKED.. 800+ FEET! I think my wifi on my phone was helping but still.. hell of a great buy!
4.0 out of 5 stars Great, easy to use
I used it to inventory my office for disposal which was around 500 items. The only con was the battery life as it tends to have trouble reading barcodes when it's low on battery. The wireless range is good.
3.0 out of 5 stars Good for most barcodes, bad for some
If you are reading basic barcodes, this is fine. However, this fails with non-printable characters, small barcodes with a lot of data, ANSI MH10.8.2 encoded barcodes, and barcodes on Digikey product bags. Some barcodes have non-printable characters embedded in them. E.g. the "group separator" and "record separator" characters. There's no keyboard key combination that corresponds to these characters, but they are necessary for properly reading some barcodes. I asked customer service, and this reader does not support those characters or any way to escape them to make a printable representation. This means that this reader won't properly scan ANSI MH10.8.2 barcodes including the Data Matrix codes on Digikey bags (which was why I bought this reader). And even if it could handle non-printable characters, it tends to have a lot of errors when reading small Data Matrix codes with a lot of data in them. I tried it right now by reading the same barcode four times in a row and got four different results. I've also found it to be inconsistent with some QR codes.
1.0 out of 5 stars No reliable item
The scanner is terrible. The wireless mode really disappointed me. The one I received was defective for sure, because there was no response after charging. It’s a piece of junk to people who need wireless mode. And I have to say the manual is really difficult to understand. When I made some settings according to the instructions that packed with the product, I found some spelling and grammar errors. This made me doubt the professionalism of the seller and the quality of this product again. The wired mode finally worked but took too much effort and still has a slow response time from trigger to read to input. Hope there would be a manual that even beginners can understand immediately.Considering the terrible manual and quality control, I don’t recommend. Anyway I won’t buy it again.
5.0 out of 5 stars works exceptionally well
for the money, you won't beat this item
2.0 out of 5 stars Acts very flaky. Works but has problems. Not a wired scanner.
Bought this to do some bar code, QR testing. Charged it up. As stated elsewhere the charging light colors are not correct. I started out having good success using the wireless feature. I was able to scan no problem. But if I use a USB cable it will go into charging mode but not act as a wired scanner. I charged it fully and then it started doing this weird thing where it loses connection with the USB wireless adapter then immediately reconnects. It make a very annoying beeping when it reconnects. It does this every 30-60 seconds. It drives me crazy. I think mine is defective. Also now when I plug it in with the USB cable it will eventually turn on so I can try to use it as a wired scanner, but it doesn't scan any codes successfully. Too flaky and unreliable.
