I tried using this with the IR illuminators and without, and the picture is MUCH better without. I get enough light in my yard from the porch light and the street light that it works better with the IR turned off. I have about 20 different Hik cameras around my property, including two of these. These have the best nighttime picture quality of any of them, by far.

I bought this to use for home NVR. It works well overall, unloaded with options to adjust and customize functionality...but the image quality isn't great. Compared to my 3yo RioLink 5mp camera it isn't nearly as crisp/clear of an image.
