I’m very happy with the NOCO genius 5 battery charger. It brought my 2-1/2 year-old battery back to a fully charged battery in less than 24 hours, from an approximately 50% (12.3 volt) charged battery and is holding the charge for several months now. I originally bought a combination 4-amp battery charger/maintainer from a great company that has been manufacturing high quality chargers for a very long time but that charger was not able to bring up the charge on my battery any higher than 50% even after two weeks. After I read about battery sulfation, I realized that my battery probably had a sulfation issue since it sits garaged for 2-3 week periods now that I work from home and when I drive it, it’s usually not long enough to recharge it. The charger I had bought did not have de-sulfation capability. I decided to buy the NOCO genius 5 based on lots of great reviews from various sources not just Bolo and also because of all the different functions and versatility it offers. For what you get I think it’s very reasonably priced. It was the same price as my first charger that has far less capabilities.It comes with a detachable cable that has spring-loaded battery terminal clamps. These clamps can be removed leaving only ¼” eyelets that you can then attach directly to the vehicles battery terminal harness mounting clamps for a permanent installation if you prefer. This cable 24” long from end-to-end before connecting it to the shorter cable that is permanently attached to the charger body. I wish NOCO would have provided two separate cables, one with battery clamps and one with the eyelets as many other battery charger manufacturers do. You can buy the eyelet cable separately but I think it’s fairly expensive at $19 at this time. There is also no bag or container for storage, only the cardboard box it comes in.It looks to be put together very well and of good quality. Although since the entire body is plastic, I’m pretty sure if one were to accidentally drop it from an automobile engine height down onto a concrete surface it is likely to crack open.On the bottom of the NOCO charger is says Designed in the USA and Made in Vietnam.The only real complaint I have is the user guide that comes with it. The print is extremely small and very difficult to read. I could see that being a problem for people with poorer eye sight. The user guide does not mention anything about the de-sulfation process that is performed automatically by this microprocessor-controlled charger. De-sulfation is mentioned in the user guide for the 12-volt repair mode but I believe this is different from automatic de-sulfation that occurs during the normal charging mode. Anyway I'm loving this charger and glad I bought it and recommend it to others.

Absolutely love this. It works great, just plug it in and leave it for a couple of hours and presto!, your battery has enough charge to start your car. Small, portable, easy to use with a typical household electrical outlet. I think the only downside to this is that it worked so well at recharging my dying car battery that I ended up keeping the old battery too long. My advice: this is great to use once in a while, on, say, a very cold day or when you haven't driven your car for weeks, but if you find you use it often, it's a sign that you should replace your battery.

Bought 2 of these as we were going out of town for a month. Did not want the batteries drained when we returned. Hooked these up to 2 cars in the garage (2017 Honda & 2019 MB).Simple to hook up (+ve terminal & ground worked fine). The units fully charged and maintained the charge. Both cars were ready to go when we returned!

I don't know why I waited so long to buy this battery charger. It's a lifesaver for my older VW, especially during cold weather. The charger is easy to use and has a clear display. I just plug it in until the battery is fully charged, then unplug it for later. The cord is long enough, and the charger is small and easy to store. Overall, it's a great product with excellent quality.

I've had this item for 2 years now. And I have to say it is one of the best purchases I've made.Background: I have a older car, that's kept outside here in toronto, The winter's here can be pretty bad. My car battery is not the greatest, and I found my battery was always draining. Constantly needed a jump. I looked at the big suitcase backpack looking ones, that CAA uses, then I saw this tiny noco. I'm glad I took the risk, it's paid for itself many times.Pros: it works. It's boosted my car, when the battery was completely dead.-The safety feature, meaning the electrics won't flow, if it's on the wrong positive or negative, was nice for those times when I was in a rush not paying attention-my model had a boost mode, so when I would activate it, it would force start my battery.-very quick. I always feel a little less than human, with people judging me when I have to jumpstart my car, I'm sure nobody cares, but I still feel a bit inadequate. This jump starts my car almost immediately.-this thing is tiny, I keep it in my glove box, it does what those huge jumper boxes that the professionals have, but since technology is so fantastic, they're able to make it so small but so powerful-I'm really impressed with the charge, I charged it once and it lasted over a year, with monthly use. I did recharge it just to be safe at the end of the first year. But I probably could have left it and it would have worked fine, there is a battery indicator as well.Cons: When I pull it out to help strangers restart their car, they look at me a little bit crazy thinking this little item can help. Then they ask me, where they can get one minutes later :)Recommendation:If you're someone who needs to jumpstart their car regularly, this thing is a lifesaver.Not only am I able to jumpstart my car when I need it fast and safely, I was able to help other strangers, simply because there wasn't a lot to hook up. It's a small unit and putting it on someone else's car, and jumping it takes a few minutes. I would 100% buy it again.
Great charger
Don’t have experience with battery tenders/chargers, this is my first. But I can say very well built compact size. Intuitive setup.Using it to maintain my jeep wrangler AGM 70AH battery as I travel a lot don’t drive the car that much.
