5.0 out of 5 stars Easier aftertaste than Stevia
I have a strong sense of taste and smell, and I’ve been wanting a zero carb sweetener to put in my coffee or tea every day to cut down on sugar. I’ve tried multiple kinds. Either they have side effects, or too strong of an aftertaste. This one is probably the best so far. It does have a light bitter aftertaste for me, but it isn’t nearly as strong as Stevia, so it is much more tolerable. I’ll try it for a while. Nothing beats sugar, of course!
5.0 out of 5 stars Best I have found!!!
This is really excellent and contains no Erythritol which is extremely difficult to find in the world of sweeteners which has become a billion dollar industry these days. Taste is great with no weird aftertaste. Dispensing is easy when adding to morning coffee while I'm still asleep. I've got 5 other various brands waiting to be thrown out or used only in I've run out emergency cases.
5.0 out of 5 stars My favourite sweetener!
I tried a few liquid sweetener and this is my favourite one....no after taste, works with any unsweetened drinks (tea, coffee, unsweetened almond milk...etc) and one bottle last us quite a while (and i use it almost every day). It is a little more expensive than the other sweetener but i do find the other ones that i tried to have after taste, so i can only use it in certain drinks, usually coffee or tea to cover the after taste.
4.0 out of 5 stars Slight After Taste and Not Super Sweet
I bought liquid Monk Fruit sweetener because, after reading about health concerns presented by erythritol, I wanted just monk fruit as an ingredient. This does contain some cane alcohol. I've only used it in baking or to sweeten hot drinks, so I don't know what it tastes like in a cold drink or food.It is sweet, but not super sweet. To sweeten a cup of hot chocolate I need about 6 drops. I also use it to sweeten apple crisp when I cook it. One thing I've wondered about is whether or not the alcohol evaporates during cooking. I don't mind a little alcohol, but it may be an issue for some people.I do notice a slight after taste that I find unpleasant. But since it isn't overpowering and I think this is a good alternative to sugar, I'll put up with it in certain foods and drinks. However, for good old sweetness, I've yet to find anything as sweet or without an after taste as good as white cane sugar. Some sweeteners, like honey and molasses have a unique flavor that does enhance or add to the flavor of certain foods, but they are not welcome in all dishes. I guess you have to choose your sweetener according to which dish you're enjoying.I'd like to know if the alcohol does indeed evaporate in a hot dish or while cooking.Because of the after taste and limited use, I think this is pricey, even though one reviewer did a price comparison with sugar in which sugar seemed less expensive. Of course, it is hard to factor in the helath costs of using sugar.
5.0 out of 5 stars Organic, no erythritol, no weird aftertaste, super easy to use!
I had been buying granulated monkfruit + erythritol sweetener pretty regularly from another organic brand when I learned that there are some serious concerns about erythritol. So I found this brand of organic monkfruit drops and gave it a try. I was a little concerned at first about the tiny bottle and relatively high price, but with pure monkfruit a little goes a LONG way (I typically use 3 drops two sweeten a liter bottle of tea). The taste is not exactly like sugar... in my opinion allulose is the natural sweetener that most tastes like sugar... but the NOW brand monkfruit doesn't have a weird aftertaste, is super easy to use, and plenty sweet for anything you're eating or baking. This one is a keeper for me.
3.0 out of 5 stars Not sweet enough!
I'm comparing this monk fruit sweetener to my Better Stevia liquid drops...and Better Stevia (same company NOW) works better in baked goods. I like to make microwave mug muffins...so this is the comparison between using two little squirts of the Better Stevia liquid then trying the same recipe with 8 drops of this monk fruit. Not sweet enough...I'm also using blueberries and chopped dates in my recipe so I'm not lookingfor a sugary flavor...but the result was just blah... I then tried 10 drops of monk fruit the next time I made the muffin...(one portion)...still not sweet enough....Went back to using my Better Stevia which seems to be fine when I'm baking a flax/blueberry mug muffin in the microwave. I had to keep adding an excessive amount of monk fruit drops in order to reach a satisfying sweet flavor...and even then, it wasn't really sweetenough at 15 drops...... I tried tasting a drop of stevia on my finger...it was bitter and not palatable....I did the same with the monk fruit....but it tasted good right out of the bottle, and much likenatural sugar. But for the price (And Bolo is very high on this product), I think I'd find it more cost effective to buy monk fruit in powdered form. I first learned about monk fruit from the herbal company called Herbasway....they make green teas and other concentrated formulas...Not saying I recommend any oftheir products because I don't use them anymore....but I have used Lankanto monk fruit to bake cookies....it worked very well in baking...This NOW monk fruit just doesn't work for me...I went back to using my Better Stevia....two tiny squirts makes my mug muffin taste perfect.. This monk fruit never achieved a sweet enough level even at 15 drops would have supposedly given me the equivalent of two tsps of sugar....and byno means am I a fan of very sweet flavors...It's just that my muffins kept tasting like I used no sweetener atall...and I just stopped trying to use this...It seemed to have a very diluted flavor...and I would have used thisbottle up so quickly that it's clearly way too expensive to ever want to purchase it again...
5.0 out of 5 stars A Perfect Sweetener
It only takes a few drops to sweeten tea or coffee. Tastes like sugar to me. Unlike Stevia, this is NOT BITTER and has NO after taste. I use it several times a day, every day, and a bottle lasts me about a month. I always keep it in the refrigerator. Love this product.
