About this item:
Results in minutes with our Home Blood Typing Kit. Performing the test is easy. After first cleaning with the supplied alcohol prep pad, the finger is lanced with the sterile disposable lancet. The finger is massaged and a drop of blood is placed on top of each of the four collection sticks. The sticks are then applied to the card, mixed with water, and stirred following directions. The results are then read from the card. Carefully read and follow the included instructions before beginning, and you will be rewarded with accurate results. "Perhaps it is the most important code we can decipher in our attempt to unravel the mysteries of blood and its vital role in our existence" - Dr. Peter D'Adamo on blood type, "Eat Right 4 Your Type", 1996

5.0 out of 5 stars This is amazing!
I highly recommend this kit. I'm glad I read reviews before using it though because you do need to be gentle with the lancet in the packet. It doesn't take much pressure to activate and you can really do some damage with it if you press too hard. The test only took me about 3 minutes, all you need is whats included in the package and a few drops of drinking water. VERY easy instructions to understand in my opinion and my results were instant. I have recommended to friends and some have already tried this exact kit.
5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to use but may require second person to help.
Very simple straight forward test! I needed help to collect the blood because I couldn’t squeeze my finger and collect it at the same time.

My granddaughter is in pre-med. She had a project where she needed to know blood types of family members. My son called me and asked his blood type, but I didn't know. So, I ordered a kit for him and myself. They were kind of easy to use. Just make sure you read the instructions a couple times before you start. The little gadget you use to poke your finger for the draw works VERY well. I pressed it too hard against my finger, and ended up with blood running down my ring finger into the palm of my hand. So, point being, don't press it too hard against the skin!! It's a very fine "needle," so it doesn't hurt very much when you do the stick. However, it was so forceful that I actually had a bruise on my finger where I did the stick.
4.0 out of 5 stars Accurate kit
I did this test way back in biology class in high school and I remember that my result was B negative. That is a very rare blood group; only 1.5% of the U.S. population has that blood type according to Google. So, I became skeptical about that high school test result. For one thing, it was over fifty years ago, who knows if I even remembered that test result correctly? And for another thing, who knows if I had performed the test correctly….…….I was a high school kid, Yo!So, as soon as I received my Eldon kit I decided to test my blood type.I made SURE that I did it correctly. I read the instructions twice. And I washed my hands twice after thoroughly cleaning the counter top where I had set out my Eldon kit. What do you know?My result this time was…………….Drum roll, please……………………B negative! My only complaint is that the instructions say you can use an “Eldon Foil” to encapsulate your card and preserve your test card for up to two years. But my test kit did NOT include an “Eldon Foil”.According to the contents list on the outside of my kit’s envelope, no Eldon Foil was listed as being included in my test kit. I did watch the online instructional video for the Eldon kit on Youtube. The kit in the demonstration included an encapsulating foil, but my kit did not have one included. That was a bit stingy of them. But otherwise, good kit.
5.0 out of 5 stars Very simple and accurate!
I recently learned my childhood best friend is in need of a kidney donor. I wasn’t sure of my blood type, but I wanted to see if I could help. I ordered this kit to test and it was very simple to follow! The finger prick does not hurt, it’s only for .1 second but it is a needle puncturing your finger so you have to be realistic.I have learned that I am O+ and I am a potential match to be a donor!
1.0 out of 5 stars Doesn’t work
Test is cheap and unclear, don’t waste your money
3.0 out of 5 stars they need clearer directions
They need clearer directions for dunces like moi i.e. I read put a drop of water in the circle but did not read the fact that it should not be in the MIDDLE of the circle. So now I'm having to buy another one. My fault I know but they should put IN LARGE PRINT the water does not go in the center. Other than that it was easy to use and was surprised at how painless the pin prick was. I was so hesitant to do the latter because I thought it would be painful.
5.0 out of 5 stars Mostly convenient way to check your blood type
Got this product to check my blood type. Everything you need is included for the most part.My biggest issue was the blood draw. You need 4 drops of blood. For me, I did the swing arm, stab with lancet, massage finger and got one good drop of blood. Great. Kept at it and got a half drop, but here's my rub. They include 4 plastic wands to collect and transfer the drop to the test card. These wands seemingly repel blood, as my half drop got on the wand and most of it slid off. It takes some time to collect each drop with these wands.By then, I could not get any more blood from my ring finger.Got lancet #2, and stabbed middle finger. only got 1/2 a drop to come out, but I collected it for sample 2.Fortunately I had some old lancets at home so I dug them out so I could stab the ring finger again. Got about 1/3 a drop for sample 3, before drying up.I used another lancet to stab my pinkie, and only coaxed out 1/4 a drop for sample 4. All this took a couple minutes. Meanwhile I was supposed to be stirring my blood on the card for 10 seconds and tilting it in different directions. Such chaos.Even though it took a while, and I didn't have that much blood in the sample, the test seems to have gone ok.I think the process would have been easier if the product included a tiny cup - like a contact lens cup, for you do drip all the blood into at once. Then have a pipette to transfer drops from there to the card. As it is today, collecting each drop is cumbersome causing a delay. In the meantime, the finger can dry up before all samples can be collected.Still at the end of the day, it worked, so I'm happy with this product.
