It seems to be sturdy, but when filled with many papers, the bottom doesn't expand any so the capacity is limited. and it doesn't have a handle. It's OK for fewer papers and a good value.

I am an artist and for one of my latest drawings I needed several folders in which to keep all the various notes, etc. to which I will refer while I complete my series.These folders are durable, re-usable, permanent (so I don't need to buy more every time)...and the color-coding is also handy for different projects that I may have going on at the same time.I probably won't need more than this one set, altho' I will keep this receipt handy just in case. All in all a good way to label various notes, sketches, etc., and I know I will refer back to this portable "file" as I work en plein air as well...FIVE STARS*****

The three expanding file folders come in black, red and blue for different tax years and different filing purposes (business documents and receipts, creative references, etc.) The colorful RGB compartments help you to color-code (maybe from most urgent/important to least?)The quality is not really outstanding in anyway when compared to a similar file folder I bought a year ago from a local $ store. I’m not sure how well these will hold up under frequent rummaging for files or receipts but for monthly filing it should be more than sturdy enough for my purposes. You may prefer something more permanent or structured, like a dedicated filing cabinet, bankers box or plastic file storage bin that you can hang Pendaflex folders from. Whatever your preferences, I think portable file folders like these can be very useful.
