About this item:
Our clothes are in constant contact with bacteria throughout our day-to-day activities, for example through contact with contaminated surfaces, other people and our own bodies. Bacteria can spread from one fabric to another in the laundry basket, from the washing-machine drum to the next load. Some of these bacteria can survive following the wash cycle. When it comes to certain laundry loads such as children's clothes or sportswear, you want to eliminate bacteria that may cause illnesses and create lingering bad smells. But detergents alone don't actually kill all bacteria. Introducing Lysol Laundry Sanitizer free & Clear, an additive specially designed to kill 99.9% of bacteria in laundry when used as directed. Lysol Laundry Sanitizer free & Clear is free from fragrance and free from dye. Simply add Lysol Laundry Sanitizer to your rinse cycle. It does not contain any chlorine bleach and even works in cold water so is safe to use on most fabrics including whites, colors and darks.

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally no stink
I HATE using chemicals. Despite that, I might have to keep using this. My husband's stinky shirts that would not un-stink no matter what I tried. Now they finally don't smell. Sheets no longer have that "old linen" smell. Even though you're supposed to use it in the rinse cycle, I add it to my main wash because I use "soap" not detergent. Even with traditional detergent, the smell issues were there. Before this, I tried hot, long washes, even with steam. I tried pre-spraying the armpits, I always use vinegar in the fabric softener spot. Nothing helped, things still had a funk. Maybe it's the washer and this stuff is cleaning the machine, or maybe bacteria does build up in our fabrics over time even though it's not technically supposed to using hot water and all that. Regardless, I am about to add this to my subscription. It seems to be a good addition to my wash routine. I can't deny that nothing stinks. Plus, my kids wrestle so I feel good that it's killing all the wrestling funk as well.
5.0 out of 5 stars Lysol sanitizer laundry additive, fragrance free
Finally a laundry product to remove odors from laundry. There are folks out there like me that can not tolerate any scented laundry or cleaning products. I am talking severe allergic reactions. I have tried every natural option to get to sanitize sheets and towels. Nothing works. I have a new washer so that is not the problem. And I bought all new towels as well. This product works as described and with every load the towels and sheets smell great with no added scents. Just that clean washed smell. I highly recommend this product.
5.0 out of 5 stars Confidence knowing germs are gone
I have used this since the pandemic and since I cannot find it in my local stores all the time it is easiest to subscribe to it here. I know that it sanitizes all my laundry no matter what temperature I wash my load at. I like that I can use it on delicates or regular clothes, towels, sheets, dog beds and blankets and know that it does not damage any of it. Everything comes out fresh and clean with no smells. Sweat or dog smells are eliminated as well. Excellent!
5.0 out of 5 stars Removes odors, clothes smell cleaner, no irritation for sensitive skin
I recently found out about this product online. I use menstrual underwear in lieu of pads or tampons and I have found that detergent alone does not completely remove odors or bacteria that can build up after a day of use. After soaking in this initially and then adding a capful to my rinse cycles from that point forward, I have noticed a lot of improvement. I have sensitive skin so I can’t use a scented detergent that just covers up smells, I need something that removes bacteria altogether! I add it to my other wash cycles as well and clothes smell fresher. Highly recommend!
4.0 out of 5 stars Good so far, but early impressions
I’ve only had this product for a couple of days, but it’s been working well so far. I appreciate that it’s unscented and free of dyes, which is great for sensitive skin. My laundry feels cleaner and fresher already. The only issue I noticed is some minor leakage from the bottle during shipping, which could be improved. Looking forward to seeing how it holds up with more use!
5.0 out of 5 stars IT WORKS!
My sister recomended this product to me because it removes bacteria from clothes. She uses it to wash her husband clothing as he is in a nursing home. I use it because I am always in the dirt! I have a huge garden and i get pretty dirty. I also use it on husband clothing because he works in construction. Clothes smell fresh.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great product
This product is great. I use this product for clothes that I can’t wash in hot water and that can’t go in the dryer. I found using the pre-soak method worked better for me than adding to a laundry load. It was hard to tell how much to add to my laundry machine since it’s kind of a smaller, energy efficient one. I decided to try the pre-soak method so I could be sure that I added the correct amount of sanitizer per amount of water. After soaking the clothes for fifteen minutes or so (follow the pre-soak instructions on the bottle), I find it helps to rinse the clothes item by item until it doesn’t smell like sanitizer anymore and then wash it in the washing machine. I usually then put it through two thirty-minute cold washes with laundry detergent and hang dry. I might just wash through one cold washes cycle if it smells clean and not like sanitizer after one wash. If you wash hang-dry only clothes after using the sanitizer and it still smells like sanitizer, I find that your home will smell kind of strongly of the sanitizer smell as the clothes dries unless you put it in an air-dry only setting on your dryer to kind of air out the clothes. Another thing to note, like others noted in their reviews, I find that if the clothes still smells like sanitizer after washing, then sometimes, even when the clothes is dry, the residue of the sanitizer can irritate your skin a little and/or the smell stays in the clothes until you wash them again (just spend the time to do extra rinsing and/or extra machine washes of the clothes—it’s worth it).
