5.0 out of 5 stars It's good
The first few days that I used the keyboard, the keys were a bit on the stiff, but once they are broken in, you can have some great typing speed and comfort. The keyboard riser piece doesn't make typing comfortable at my normal desk position. Sometimes I put it on when I'm standing and the angle is right. The function keys aren't grouped into groups of 4 and the F12 is not above CTRL so I have to look every time I need to find a function key. The scroll wheel in the keyboard is mostly useless because the scroll wheel button is sensitive to accidental clicks. The mouse is very comfortable in my hand. It is the perfect shape for a vertical mouse. The grip is not as wide as other vertical mice that I have and is good for medium size hands. It is an optical mouse with a red light,I have been using the set for about 3 weeks and it is staying fairly clean without having to be cleaned daily. I gave it 5 stars because the mouse is perfect and the price makes up for the shortcomings of the keyboard. There are limited kinds of ergonomic keyboards on the market and none of them I have tried is perfect but this one is a great value so I will adapt to it.
5.0 out of 5 stars It's different from a regular keyboard
It's very different from a regular keyboard due to the "spilt" feature and it takes a little bit to get used to. When I first got it, my fingers kept hitting the wrong keys but once I got used to it - it's great! The other feature that I really like is your mouse! I love the ergonomic shape of the mouse - I'll probably add some "mouse ears" to it - just kidding! I ordered this because I have carpal in both hands and I didn't have to wear my brace when using this keyboard. Plus, my work laptop is tiny and the keys are tiny and its' just a pain. I plan on taking this to my office after we are allow to return and using this as my permanent work keyboard. Thank you for coming up with something this innovative.
4.0 out of 5 stars Good enough
Needed a backlit, full sized, ergo keyboard, and options were limited, and while this fits my requirements, it doesn't truly meet my quality expectations. Most notably the keyboard (as seen in other reviews) is fairly light, and a little bit warped on the bottom and doesn't really sit flat and sturdy like every other keyboard I've ever owned before it. This paired with a non padded wrist rest almost made me return it. However, after giving it a few days to settle and me to try to adjust, I am reluctantly keeping it. The base seems to have leveled a little bit resulting in less flex when I type on it now. I'm not a fan of the function key location or the size of the keys on the left, but I'm getting used to it too.So, that's the bad'ish stuff. The good stuff I didn't mention yet is that the keys are quiet, require very little force and have a short travel so it's been good for work and easy on my tendons. The scrollwheel in the center is pretty nice, as it allows me to scroll without needing to go back to the mouse. I do also like that it has dedicated media control keys - I only wish they had included volume control too without needing to use the function key.
1.0 out of 5 stars UPDATE: NO!
UPDATE:I feel so betrayed. I loved this so much (per my original review) mostly because of the mouse. Was even willing to get over the stiff keyboard. But NO! It used to be that I had to turn the mouse on and off again when I started work for the day. Now that doesn't always work. The mouse works when it feels like it. I almost had a heart attack when I went to begin work one day and it wouldn't turn on. I can't have breakdowns every morning because of a finicky mouse. Then the last straw: this stiff keyboard I was willing to get over......after just a couple weeks of use, THE LETTERS ON THE MIDDLE ROW OF KEYS ARE STARTING TO WEAR AWAY! IT'S ONLY BEEN A COUPLE WEEKS!That's it. Assuming I'm still within the return window - which I think I am - this heartbreaker is going back as soon as I can find a suitable replacement.***********************I have used ergonomic keyboard/mouse combos for close to my entire working career. So I have a lot to compare this with. That in mind, this set certainly checks all the ergo comfort boxes. Using the wrist "riser" made it too high for me - the height it comes as is perfect for me. My absolute FAVORITE thing about this purchase is the mouse! Mouse, where have you been all my life?! I don't think I'll ever be able to use another mouse without silently complaining. The shape and fit seem a bit odd to look at but using it is so comfortable and natural. I love it.Now, for a few other things that made me give 4 stars rather than 5:On my system at least, every time I go to use the mouse after starting up for the day, the mouse will not work unless I turn it off and back on again. At first I thought it was some fluke, but it has done that every time I have used it since. Again, it could be because of my set up or my system but still wanted to make note of it in case anyone else runs into into a similar situation. It's a mild inconvenience for me and I'd never give up my new best friend for that reason alone.Second is another matter of personal preference, and I believe I have seen other reviews mention something similar. The keyboard is definitely not a soft press situation. It is stiff - no other way to say it.You're going to have to push these keys authoritatively for them to respond. You don't have to smash the keys for goodness sake. But if you prefer a softer keyboard response, then this keyboard likely is not for you. Also, if you believe you should be able to pull a keyboard out of the box, plug it in and go to town, then this keyboard may not be for you either. It appears to require some "breaking in." I say that because a few keys (maybe 3 or 4) stuck when I first started using the keyboard. Stuck as in you had to push even harder than usual to make those letters register so I would regularly misspell words because those keys hadn't registered. I noticed after two or three days of use, that lessened significantly and is just about gone now. So it seems with a few days use, the problem corrected itself. This also makes me wonder if a few weeks use will allow the entire typing experience to not require such a firm touch. I already notice a bit of a difference in that but not sure if the pressure requirement is getting lighter or if I have just gotten used to the amount of pressure I need to apply. Either way, it's certainly not enough reason to send it back and I'm fine with it at this point. But wanted to mention that in case this a deal breaker for some folks or for the folks that believe having to "break in" a keyboard is ridiculous, and I can't say you're wrong about that. But as I said, for me, not enough reason to send it back.Overall, extremely happy with my purchase.
Bumpy start
When I first plugged it in, I got nothing. No reaction. It needs to be plugged into a USB 2.0 or higher (higher is better). But once I got that sorted the space key stuck! Turns out that is a common problem. Just tap the key, clean it up and away you go.Since that first 15 minutes of stress this thing has been PURE GOLD!!! I have never had a better keyboard!! LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!
Great value!
Easy to use!
Disappointing Keyboard Performance After Just 5 Months
I purchased this keyboard and mouse combo five months ago, and I'm disappointed that the keyboard has already started failing. While the mouse continues to work well, the keyboard frequently becomes unresponsive, making it impossible to use for extended periods. Despite attempts to troubleshoot, the recurring issues have made this combo a regrettable purchase. I'm now searching for a replacement keyboard and would advise others to consider alternatives with better longevity.
Good keyboard, better mouse!
Bought this keyboard and mouse for home office use. The keyboard gets a little getting used to, as some of the keys are in positions just sufficiently different to cause annoying typing errors. But after about a week, my fingers have grown used to the new positions, except for the c and v keys, and the backspace key.Overall, the keyboard is quite well-made. The keys feel a bit squishy but are silent, which I like; if you like to hear the clackety-clack, you will be disappointed. The magnetic attachment that raises the front of the keyboard is very useful to relieve tension on the wrists. The vertical mouse is the better device in this combo. It feels great in my hand and allows good control over the cursor even for minor artwork. The single blue curved line around the thumb-rest is a nice aesthetic touch. I used to switch between my hands while using a regular mouse. That is obviously impossible with this mouse but so far, I have not felt the need to switch as this mouse induces much less strain on my hand.
