5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful, quality jacket perfect for daily wear or travel and great value for the money.
I ordered this jacket for my hubby after letting him choose it from several others and picking out the color. He is barely 5'8" & 185 lbs with broad shoulders so i ordered the XL. It fit him to a tee. He mentioned it's quite roomy - there's plenty of room in the sleeves to layer if needed for colder days and the armpits are not snug or tight. The sleeves are a tad long as expected but the velcro tightening solves that problem. We live in north TX where weather fluctuates between the high 30s & 70s from day to day during the fall and winter. His other coats and jackets were either too large or thick, or did not serve as windbreakers or easy to lug about so he needed something light and comfortble, yet lined and warm enough for all weather wear. This jacket checks all the boxes, and we plan to take it with us for our Europe trip in May-June when weather over there can be rainy and chilly. He loves it and we couldn't be happier with the purchase. It's attractive and alot better than the expensive brand name ones i've seen at the mall.
5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect Balance of Quality, Features, and Value
I’m thoroughly impressed with the Outdoor Ventures Men's Lightweight Softshell Jacket. It offers more features at a better price than the name-brand jacket I owned before. The inside pockets are convenient, the hood is adjustable with drawcords and even has a removable zipper and Velcro to keep it secure. The inner fleece lining is perfect for chilly fall and winter days, and the Velcro wrist cuffs are great for adjusting the fit. The materials feel durable, and the jacket is true to size—I’m 5'7", 173 lbs, and the medium fits perfectly with enough room for a shirt or light sweater. Plus, it looks trendy!Rating: 5/5Highly recommended!
4.0 out of 5 stars Nice looking, functional, versatile, affordable
This is a good jacket, you just have to take it for what it is. First, it's not waterproof, it's water resistant. It will get kind of wet in heavy rain. I've never had water soak through it, but the jacket itself got pretty soaked. However, it dries out fairly quickly. Also, the fleece lining is nice, but the jacket is not all that warm. This is a good reason to order up one size: If it's under 50F or so or windy, you'll want to wear more layers underneath. That said, it's a good lightweight/mid-weight jacket. It's well-made and functional but stylish, with a lot of pockets of various sizes. The biggest design flaw is the hood -- it's HUGE. It's really much too large. Maybe you have to have a longer neck or something, but it engulfs my head and covers my eyes, and I can't see anything. There is a cinch cord around the outside of it, but it looks silly to cinch it around your face and have an empty fabric pouch sitting on your head. It would be nice if there were a velcro tab on the back to adjust the hood size -- I've added my own, which helps. If you're wearing a hat or hoodie under it, that can help keep it off your forehead and out of your eyes.My other complaints are minor and might not bother other people. If I'm wearing a flannel shirt (which is often), the fleece lining inside the sleeves will grab onto the flannel and make the jacket difficult to take off. The hand pockets are also fleece lined, which should be nice, but... it's a thinner microfiber material that feels kind of cheap and flimsy, and I don't really like putting my hands in there because the fabric snags on the tiniest rough edge, which is really annoying if you have dry skin or hangnails.Overall, a nice, affordable, functional jacket with a few flaws.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great for Aug/Sept in Scotland
Bought for my hubby for our 3 week trip to Scotland from last week of August and into September. We had ample rain (sometimes cold and pelting) and wind. He stayed warm and dry with one to two layers under jacket in 50-63 degree weather. It’s damp and raw in Scotland with high humidity, so it’s cooler weather than it sounds. The large swallowed him and sent back with no issues. Medium fits great. He is 5’10 and 165 lbs. Will be great for camping too. Great go-to jacket with lots of pockets inside and out. Highly recommend. Ordered in gray. Paired with some waterproof snowboard pants from Bolo - stayed dry and wind-proofed! Great value!
5.0 out of 5 stars lightweight & Warm
The Outdoor Ventures Men's jacket fleece lining provides warmth beyond what one would expect for a lightweight jacket—rain beads off the exterior like Finley waxed car metal. The jacket is as comfortable as a sweater and looks good with business casual attire. The hood can be easily removed and reattached. The price is very reasonable for the quality.
5.0 out of 5 stars Nice jacket, size matters.
Very nice quality jacket. I purchased it as a lighter weight ski shell that I could wear on its own on warmer days, or with layers if colder. It fits that purpose nicely. It is a good weight on its own for spring skiing at above freezing temperatures. Below freezing, you’ll want to layer up. Before buying, I read many reviews and was unsure about whether to get a large or XL size. I am 5’11”, 205 lb and usually buy size L jackets. In the end, I decided to get the XL, which turned out to be the right decision for my intended use. With no layers underneath, it is a little big on me, but with the wrist and waist cinches, it fits reasonably well. On colder days it is roomy enough to wear a fleece layer underneath, while allowing freedom of movement with no tight spots or binding. I think a size L would have fit better without layers, but would have been too snug with a fleece underneath.L
5.0 out of 5 stars Great quality at a great price
Read other reviews and bought this jacket. I wanted a light rain repellant hooded fleece fall jacket. The quality is very good with soft lining. I am a XL, but ordered one size larger 2XL. Great for driving in the car as it is not too heavy, yet warm. I am very happy with my purchase. So will you. Thank you Bolo.
Fits great and kept him dry
Well made! Great zippered pocket inside! A dressy looking jacket for an upcoming trip to Norway.
Well made, good fit.
Well made, deep pockets, nice material, good fit, removable hood, real XL fit. I picked the right fall/spring coat, yay!
Good fit, lots of pockets
My husband is 6 feet and 340 pounds. The 4X fit perfect. Nice fleece lining for colder days. I think it will be really good for the rainy days on our trip to the UK this summer.
