I have 4 kids, so buying pencils in bulk is a necessity. I like how durable these pencils are. The eraser can withstand correcting a lot of mistakes, and holds together even when there's some force put behind the erasing effort. The lead is a strong, and unlike some other pencil brands we've tried, it sharpens to a nice sharp point in an electric sharpener without breaking off inside of it.

These Paper Mate pencils are better than others I've tried over the years. There are a long (7.5"), thin and sturdy pencil. I press down hard when I write and I have never broken one of these pencils nor has the lead ever snapped while I was writing. They are an HB 2 so they are soft lead which writes well and the eraser is not hard like on some pencils so this one does not smear graphite when trying to erase and does not leave a graphite shadow after erasing. If you always want a very fine point on your pencil then you will have to frequently sharpen these pencils as you would any other HB 2 lead pencil. I write, edit and make notes a fair amount so I buy the box of 72 which lasts me several months.

I would have liked if they had been pre sharpened. They aren't the best pencils but they will do the job!
Not sharpened - Pain in the arse
They're perfectly good pencils but I wanted them sharpened already. Such a pian to sharpen 72 f'ing pencils.
