This is a solidly built, attractively finished Hourglass that fits well on a good sized desk or as shelf decor. It feels heavy when lifted, is very stable and the sand flows evenly through the full 60 minutes, giving a small cascade or landslide effect every few seconds on the bottom when the collected cone of sand reaches a tipping point. The old brass finish is just what I was looking for, but I imagine the bright brass would be just as nice looking if your decor was a little different. Mine runs for about 61 minutes roughly, yours may vary, but if you’re looking for precision timekeeping, an hourglass is not going to be your first choice. I liked the hour timeframe, so I can periodically watch the “sands of time” slipping past, but the 30 minute version might be a good choice for smaller display locations. A small amount of sand grains adhere to the top bulb after the sand has all run thru, probably due to static buildup - this is scarcely noticeable, though, and a single small tap of “divine intervention” on the bulb releases the grains which drop in a quick stream of about one or two seconds. Great fun to watch, quite lovely and meditative. If a decorative but functional hourglass is on your list, you will be hard pressed to find one any nicer than this at the price.

I purchased this hourglass for decor. It does have issues with fluidity… the last bit of sand tends to not flow down. Not a deal-breaker for me. It’s gorgeous & a good value.

I've restarted this 4 times now over 4 days. The sand is wet or moist so that it clumps and does not perform as it should. Flow just stops. I have yet to see 1 clean cycle that runs clean through. If I can't get a replacement I'll have to return this one...

Got an industrial fan in the man cave? This was a great addition to his office. First shipment broke, lucky me I opened it and was able to send back notification. The seller wasted no time whatsoever to replace the broken one. Thank Gawd!!!Hubby’s a happy camper.

If you want one of these items, I recommend this, the frame acts as a protector for the glass. It is made of solid material so has some weight giving it more stability. My husband loves it and uses it often in his study. Keeps good time. Highly recommend

Lovely addition to a window sill
Well made. Small but strong. Does 55mins to 1 hour. So is fairly accurate as needed! Aesthetically pleasing.
Functional and sturdy but unsightly screw heads showing
The timer is functional and times an hour without getting clogged or blocked. The frame is solid and sturdy without being too heavy. My only gripe is that there are three screw heads sticking up from the top/base which are unsightly. From the product images I expected these would be soft feet to prevent scratches, but they're not.
