1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing results, showering makes color wash out every 3rd day.
I bought the Clairol Root Touch-Up Semi-Permanent Hair Color Blending Gel, 5 Medium Brown, because I have grey wisps of grey around my face , although the rest of my hair remains a medium/dark brown. I even put this on the Bolo Subscribe & Save list. To it's credit, the applicator works extremely well, better than any other root touch-up I have ever tried. The disappointment is the semi-permanent dye. I expected the result would last at least 2-3 weeks, maybe up to 4 weeks. I discovered the color washes out after 3-4 shampoos. This translates to LESS than ONE WEEK, that's works out to be about 10 applications each month, making this Clairol product a massive waste of time. Last time I equate Clairol with quality. The last temporary root coverage, lasted for 3 weeks at a time.Despite the super-easy & neat application method, skip this product to find a better product.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good for Covering and Toning
I stripped black dye out of my hair and dyed it light brown. It was really brassy, so I used this to cover that. It worked perfectly. I wet my hair, applied one tube, left it on for 25 min, rinsed it out and used a little color safe conditioner. All the brassiness is gone. I'll probably keep using it every week or two until I'm ready to dye my hair again.
4.0 out of 5 stars Great for eyebrows too
I've found this is good for touching up a stray 'light' eyebrow hair. Always be safe and careful when using any product around your eyes, but have never had an issue using this one.
3.0 out of 5 stars Could be a great product
This is a very mixed review. The coverage on this product is poor, but it is so easy to use. If you are looking for a quick fix for a short period of time, this may be for you. I have dark brown hair with grey roots, so it is difficult to cover. If you have lighter hair it may work better for you.Having said that the application is super easy. You just open the cap, squeeze the tube until color comes out. You can use the product over and over again until it runs out. I hate paying almost as much for touch up kits as for a full color package. I've used this at least 3 times on my hair and am not even half done.I would recommend this for someone with lighter hair and/or looking for a quick fix until they can get a proper color done.
5.0 out of 5 stars A perfect match to the same Clairol color -- in the ideal spray formula
I am 95% gray by the age of 52 so NOT dyeing is NOT an option! But to have a great spray-on root cover-up designed to 100% match whatever Clairol brand I buy is new and FANTASTIC![Also, in case you haven't done the research, Clairol hands-down has the longest gray-covering color on the market, so if you are dyeing to cover gray hair, don't both buying any other product.]Knowing that, you can wait for sales; watch for them at your local pharmacy, everywhere! When I find a Clairol color on a great sale -- I pretty much clear out the ENTIRE SHELF OF THEM! I regularly can find the color for 50% off, or at least often enough to use up my LAST stash of huge purchasing! (Also, if you find them on the clearance rack because they are CLOSE to expiring, just like so many food products, the colors last much longer than the official "expiration date" does.)I haven't seen the spray on sale (except by being a CVS loyalty member and getting a $10/coupon for free each month + a host of other random coupons CVS texts me, which I can "send" to my loyalty card on my phone and then use at the checkout counter if I need root cover-up spray -- or simply to stock up on more.)But this exact match to Clairol's specific colors is new -- at least as far as I've seen in late summer 2023. I save it and use it only for times I'm officiating a wedding or otherwise need to look 100% polished and professional.Lastly, I've tried all the various root cover up applicator styles -- the powers, pens, lipstick-like applications, and different types of sprays. This is definitely the best I've tried so far. A spray, it doesn't leave my hair sticky and frozen (almost like hair spray) and it even lasts for several washes -- which I've NEVER seen in root coverups before!YaYa Clairol, especially for women who got the bad-luck-plucked-my-first-gray-hair-in-college women!
5.0 out of 5 stars Zero complaints. All compliments.
I'm a natural redhead (auburn) and I've started graying over the recent years. I've been dying my hair with box dye and because my hair grows fast, dying my hair had become a monthly ritual. Dying my hair every 3-4 weeks isn't healthy for it and I've been looking for ways to extend my color. I was very pleased to find this. I've tried sprays, powders and semi permanent dye with varying degrees of success and this is definitely the best. Because this was a cheaper option and on sale, I had low expectations for it do so so didn't take a before picture unfortunately. I decided to take pictures once I saw how rich the color was.I put it on about a 1/3 inch of regrowth with less than 40% gray. I left it on about thirty minutes and rinsed it with lukewarm water. It rinsed out easy and when it dried, it was exactly my color. I only did the crown of my head and my hairline and doing that, I think I could get 2-3 applications out of the tube. I would recommend a glove to let you distribute the dye with your fingers instead of the brush because using the brush alone, you're going to use much more product than you need to. I applied it to clean damp hair, not soaking wet. the formula is thick but easily spreadable. It comes out the tube easily so watch how hard you squeeze. It doesn't drip and washes off skin easily (though it may stain your nails so wear gloves). No need to apply heat or wrap your hair in a cap. Also, there's no hair dye smell. I don't know if it will last 6-10 washes like the box says but even if I only get 3-4 washes, I've gotten my money's worth.
1.0 out of 5 stars clairol toot touch-up
The tube was split both inside and outside of box. I'm not sending it back as it's too messy and waste of time. just give me refund or another one. Not Bolo fault defective tube with Clairol.
Works great!
Happy I found this product! I use it when my roots start growing out. I apply and leave on for about ten minutes and then wash it out. Good results. Second time buying.
Consistent and Subtle
I've been using this product for a few years, now, and like it far better than Clairol's Natural Instincts. The colour gradually fades so no harsh lines appear as it grows out. I especially appreciate the fact that this product requires no measuring and mixing, and it lasts a long time between uses. Its easy applicator brush makes doing root, spot or streak colouring a breeze, as well. My only complaint is that it comes in only a few shades. And, what I've found is, on white hair, the "Medium Brown" shade creates a golden blonde, as opposed to the ash shade on all hair colour charts. White hair is far more resistant to hair colour products than coloured hair. Using this product on coloured hair (whether natural or not) yields a darker colour and I use the "Medium Brown" shade to not only make white hair a medium blonde, but also to create low lights, or darker streaks throughout the length of the coloured hair. The contrast creates a lovely highlights and lowlights effect. Just make sure to wear the gloves provided. I will buy and try the "Dark Brown" shade, next.
No recomendable
No me gusto , ni pinta el cabello como dice .
Does not colour the roots.
Tried it twice on clean and damp hair. First time kept it for 10-15 min, second time for longer circa 20-25 min to see if it would work. Waste of money.
Para sacarte del apuro funciona
No me gustó mucho el color, tiende a ser rojizo
