This little machine was great to have this summer. It does do the job. It’s loud but does shave quickly. The ice isn’t as fine as commercially shaved ice but not as big as snow cone ice. You’ll still need to use a thick straw to drink the “slushies” you make due to the size of the shaved ice. It’s easy to operate, seems durable, worth the money.

My toddler is on a ice kick due to teething. I give her crushed ice, but sometimes she just craves the smoother ice. I love it too. Sometimes I add a little lemon juice or lime juice since we don't have the flavorings yet delicious. My only complaint is that it sounds like it's working pretty hard so I hope it lasts long. Lol

My family has been enjoying the shaved ice this machine creates along with Torani fruit flavored syrups to keep us cool this summer! It doesn't make very fine powder like the Kona Ice machines do, but it's definitely good enough for us. It's finer than crushed ice for sure, so it's definitely worth every penny! The machine is small enough that we're taking it with us to the beach next week. I'm sure it would also be good for making frozen mixed drinks also, but I haven't tried it. I've meant to use it for frozen fruits also to make a sort of smoothie shaved ice combo... I'll update if this turns out good. It is so easy to use and clean and even stores smaller by the base coming apart and storing together. And it's a giant plus that it matches the color in our kitchen. :) I highly recommend this for the summer!

My grandchildren, 11 and eight right now spend several weeks of the summer with their parents at our home. We wanted something fun and this is so easy and they both can do it themselves. I also purchased the Hawaiian shaved ice three pack from Bolo for the flavoring. We followed all the directions in the booklet and it is delicious and fun and refreshing!!!!

It works pretty well, but on the first use the motor was already smelling unhappy so I'm sure it will die soon.It's convenient that it uses standard ice cubes and isn't a hand crack. It's also easy to clean, and intuitive to assemble and use.

My three boys and I use this shaved ice machine DAILY. It can handle three fine, with the motorized parts just getting warm to the touch. After #4, though, it gets hot, and I wouldn't trust it for five or more of them at one time.That being said, what the machine spits out rivals our local shaved ice truck, and it has been a godsend for us during these back-to-back heatwaves in NorCal. I got different flavors of syrup to put on them, a much better selection than what's normally available on the truck.I would heartily recommend this shaved ice machine, it's a great bang for the buck, so to speak--but if you accidentally drop and break the lid, you're kind of screwed. The lid part still twists on and sort of locks, but the triangle part that pushes the lever in to actually start the machine, broke off. So now I have to hold the hanky lid with one hand and use a toothpick in the other, to push the lever in, because the Dash company says they don't sell replacement kids. AKA, to get a working life for my machine, I have to buy another whole machine. That sucks. So I'll keep on using the toothpick method, and warn everyone who buys one of these to be extra careful to not break the lid!

Bought these as a gift for my 8th grader. She LOVES it and so do I. Perfect for snow cones, icy drinks, icees, mixed drinks, everything. One of the pieces inside was broken off when we received it, but it still works.

Easy to use.
Easy to clean, good for small kitchen. However, It was hard for me to figure out why it’s wasn’t shaving at first, since there’s 2 wholes that you can shoot the ice cubes (yes! You can only use ice cube, which is one downfall for me as I make my own small ice blocks then just crushed to different sizes and shapes). Also, ice is coming out to the farthest front of the whole so you need to adjust the bowl or cup. It’s a bit pricey too..In summer it’s still duable for house use.
