    Wanted to see how hot our grill got. Moved into a place that had a built in grill. Was told by someone who knew about the product that it might get close to 1000F. Bought this thermometer which is supposed to measure up to 1000F. Tested it and saw after a few minutes it read 700F. Waited a while longer and when I checked, the entire face was black and it looked like it might have been at 800F or 900F but almost impossible to tell. I suppose that if it actually exceeded 1000F then there is no fault, but I just don’t think it did.

    This is advertised as a two piece set. Only one thermometer arrived in the box. The stem was also too short for my ceramic kamado grill (Big Green Egg). I returned them. Would not buy from this seller again due to false advertising of products.
