5.0 out of 5 stars Good!!
This is one of my favorite food powder!!
5.0 out of 5 stars Yummy and spicy
This is a nice mix that has a pretty robust seafood flavor. If you're very health conscious, this stuff isn't the best; it's highly processed food as nearly any soup powder will be, but at the same time, much of what's in it comes from natural sources (however processed). The flavor is spicy and seafood-y (as you'd expect). Adding some mixed seafood and veggies is great. I've done it with mixed frozen seafood, bok choy, onions, and some noodles. Definitely happy with the result. I just have to mention that eating this kind of stuff all the time is probably not the best choice for health.
3.0 out of 5 stars Just OK
The "best before" date area on this package is blank, which is concerning since I don't know how old the product might be or when it expires. This honestly made me reluctant to even try this but I decided to cross my fingers and just hope it's OK.The recipe on the packet calls for squid but I used shrimp instead, along with onion, garlic, and cabbage. This made a soup that was very spicy but not crazy hot. Eating it over rice definitely cut the heat. It wasn't fishy and although it was salty I didn't find it overly so. My main complaint is that I really didn't find it to have much flavor other than just being hot. It was OK but I probably wouldn't buy it agan. I would have given this product 4 stars but deducted a star for not having properly marked the package with an expiration date.
2.0 out of 5 stars It’s okay…underwhelming
Being half Korean…raised by a Korean mother, I’ve had my share of Jjambong…and been called Jjbong. I added seafood, and veggies that are common in this dish…the packets taste like Shin-ramen. Nothing special about this. I rather just by shin-ramen which is a lot cheaper than this. Definitely not worth the price.
5.0 out of 5 stars Delicious and easy to make...definitely spicy, but not to an extreme degree
I have tried products from this company before and liked them. This seafood powder was, thankfully, no exception! The kit is for one large meal (there are multiple servings in the meal - could easily feed a family of four) and is essentially just a spice kit. You will still need to prepare rice, vegetables, seafood, etc. The kit comes with a dry powder mix and concentrated wet ingredients (believe this to be the chili packet). Instructions are simple. Prepare seafood and vegetables like normal, add water, mix in powder, cook for a few more minutes, add wet ingredients, mix well and it's ready! The spices were so flavorful that I did not need to add any extra spices. This soup would be considered pretty spicy by the average American, but I thought the spice level was perfect - enough to slow me down while eating so I could have some rice and water to cool off, but not so much I couldn't enjoy the flavors of the food.Overall, I highly recommend this.
