5.0 out of 5 stars If you need a roomy toe box these are your boots!
Great boots, they look sharp and they're comfortable right out of the box. I tend to have a problem where my toes are very sensitive to pressure from a boot or to pressing into the front or top of a boot - and going up in size tends to make the problem worse because my foot slides around and jams into the front of the boot - leather boots tend to have this problem to a great degree for me and I use leather boots for yardwork because they hold up to shovel digging & other work and they don't get sopping wet from wet grass or mud. These Vasque boots have a very roomy toe box and at the same time fit snuggly (not tight - snug) around the rest of my foot - so your foot doesn't slide side to side or forward, the toe area doesn't press down anywhere. And these boots look sharp - in fact it was hard to wear them out in the garden the first time because I knew they were going to be subjected to digging, lawn mowing etc. Then I realized that the price was so good I could buy another pair for non-messy work...so that's what I'm about to do!! Vasque is a great boot company!
4.0 out of 5 stars beautiful boots
These boots are beautiful. I had been looking for a leather boot and these were exactly what i was looking for. However the toe box is a bit narrow and i will need to wear them with a thinner sock. I'm hoping that they will stretch a bit more as I wear them in. I've read they need time to stretch. I tried other brands with a wider toe box but the height of the mid sized tops, rubbed painfully above my ankle. These, while just as tall do not hurt my leg. Not sure if I should have gone for the wide, I had my foot sized as at a retailer that sold Vasque boots but didn't have this style and it was recommended I would need a size 9 medium. that is why I went with these rather than the wide. Possibly the wide would have resulted in a better fit.
3.0 out of 5 stars Achy tired feet
I had really hoped by the reviews these would make a great pair of hiking boots. I have wore them daily around town and at home. Then a 5 mile hike and a 6 mile hike. My feet were extremely tired and sore. I almost had blisters on the bottom of my feet. I even purchased excellent inserts for them. I bought a pair of Merrell's last year and they needed zero break in time. So, I am a little disappointed in the Vasque brand.
5.0 out of 5 stars Waterproof Vasques!
Great sturdy boot that is truly waterproof! They are not cheap but they are worth it. Sturdy soles for any surface and lace up tight to keep the pebbles out. They are heavy, but no more than other leather hiking boots. I walk in tall grasses on uneven surfaces and large gravel, and they keep me steady.
5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing fit and product
These are amazing boots. Go a 1/2 size bigger For summer socks n 1 size bigger for heavy winter socks. The leather gives a little with wear.I used to only wear Keene but their products are not the same anymore. My foot is stable. Heel fits well. Ankle is well supported. I have 2 pair. Winter n summer hiking.
5.0 out of 5 stars Boot laces too short for boots. Quality good.
I use these boots for hiking. I should have ordered wide tho. Buy ok. I like the quality of these boots. Only problem is the laces on this pair are too short. Would like to have longer ones sent to me now if possible.
4.0 out of 5 stars Waterproof but make my feet tired
Waterproof? YesComfortable? Sort ofTook me a few months to break them in. I even emailed vasque asking if I should have bought a size up or something because I was still getting blisters after months of daily wear. They said to stick with the size I have. I'd say about 4 months in I stopped getting blisters hiking up hill. My feet do get very tired in these. But the waterproofness is a big perk for me, since I work in an area that has very wet grass in the morning, and have a good amount of stream crossings to do. Ive had the boots one year so far with 6-7 months of daily use and they've held up good. soles have been replaced 3x with a 4th coming up soon. I hope they last at least another year. There are more comfortable hiking boots out there that arent waterproof. Youll have to decide what's more important.
3.0 out of 5 stars Runs small
These boots run very small. They are VERY STIFF and hopefully will soften up with treatment and use.. I would not buy them again.
