About this item:
Addi Egg is the smallest of the popular Express Knitting Machines. This miniature version has 6 needles, legs, hand crank, protective dome and hanging weight. It produces a thick i-Cord much like a French knitting dolly but in a fraction of the time!.

5.0 out of 5 stars This worked as intended.
This knitter worked like it was intended to when you use the correct size yarn. I like the weight and that it has legs and was compact and good for travel. It was easy to put together and use. I found it to be of qood quality as it did not break will using it. I returned it because I thought it would do bigger yarn which it will not. It did fine with 4 worsted weight cotton . Just not a 5 weight which is what I needed. It looked bigger like it would and I saw a video that lead me to believe it would, but the yarn I wanted to use was to big, it just kept jamming up. I bought the next size up a 22 needle Addi to see if that will work. They need an in-between size of these two machines.
1.0 out of 5 stars Broken center piece inside
Bought this and you could not turn it after 4 rows. Took apart and middle section was broken. Ill get a different brand. Not worth the money I paid.
5.0 out of 5 stars It works!
It works perfectly
3.0 out of 5 stars It was Way easier to use than I expected.
Edited: well the third time I tried it one of the pins broke. I’ve already thrown away the boxes so I doubt I can return it. I read and watched videos before purchasing and was able to make an i-cord right out of the box. If you are having any sort of issues with it I suggest watching video's. This thing is fun to use.
4.0 out of 5 stars A bit finicky, but it works if you want circa 1 cm ichord
I use this product to make “chunky” yarn for my kids to finger knit and use on the zippy loom. This is a great size for this purpose. The ONLY yarn that has worked for me consistently is “On Line Supersocke superwash stretch wool cotton”. (https://www.Bolo.com/Supersocke-Superwash-Stretch-Cotton-Striping/dp/B06Y6KVY1H/ref=sr_1_1?crid=209HORFD8SUO&keywords=online+supersocke+cotton+yarn&qid=1560018635&s=gateway&sprefix=Supersocke+cotto%2Caps%2C201&sr=8-1).It still occasionally messes up and by no means has a smooth turn (it is jerky when the string pops over). When the String completes the turn, make sure it is completely over the red tongs. This makes sense if you have the machine in front of you. As long as you fix this, you will come out with a great results. I also found that the weight was a bit too heavy and the turn was less jerky if you leave off the weight. Every now and then, I will tug on it.The product works; you need the right string, you need to know how to troubleshoot it, and you need patience.
5.0 out of 5 stars Love it
watched the instruction online on how to thread it and it work very well no issue making my tube to write my granddaughter's name on a wreath that I am making crochet. see the instructions video's online and you will avoid a lot of issue with the product
1.0 out of 5 stars Defective
One of the needles is, for lack of a better term, deformed and as such does not grab the yarn properly resulting in dropped stitches. It did not come with replacement needles like the bigger Addi machines do and the only replacements I can find online ship from Europe and with shipping cost almost as much as a new machine. Very disappointed with the quality control. I expected better from this product. First photo is the defective needle. Second photo is what it should look like.
2.0 out of 5 stars Broke in 30 minutes
Very difficult to use. I had just figured it out when 2 needles broke, rendering it unusable. I've ordered replacement needles and I'll give it another chance but my hopes aren't high.
Works great
I got this item and it works so much better with thicker yarns then the machine with metal hooks!!! I also have the 2 bigger Addi machine ( 22 and the King ) and it is very easy to use these once you get use to them. This works the same as a typical knitting machine which may have a learning curve but can be learnt off a Youtube video. If you are looking for a cord knitting machine this one works way better then any other I have tried, so speaking from lots of experience. IF you find this hard to use watch more videos to help. :)

Very easy to use
I am finding this very easy to use. So far I have only tried it with DK weight yarn.It dropped a few stitches at the beginning, but I pulled the tube back up and unpicked it back to the dropped stitches and then put the loops back onto the needles, then continued to knit, by turning the handle, and it was fine. It seems like its just a matter of keeping the tension correct on the yarn going into the egg, and the stitches will be fine. You must also give the handle a good shove in or it will keep falling out as you turn it, one good shove solves this.As this has 6 needles you get a wider i cord tube than most if the other french knitting type machines. I'm not sure what I will do with mine yet, but I have some ideas running around my head. For now I'm just happily turning out a long strand of i cord, because I can.
