Like other Uncle Ben's microwave in a bag, it serves a purpose by providing a good-sized portion to build something from. It is very convenient and fast. The flavor of the White Rice is a little bland so you need to add whatever you fancy, but it is what it is. For fun and nostalgia, I added a can of del Monte Mexican stewed tomatoes, pepper, and a pat of butter in a frying pan for 10-15 minutes. It was very good Mexican rice.The color of this white rice was a little darker than expected. I have also tried their Rice Pilaf, Basmati, and Jasmine and all are more like what you would expect. A pat of butter or other adds works wonders.
