5.0 out of 5 stars Bought two b/c I love this so much!

5.0 out of 5 stars Love this!
This is so sturdy! The cover is thick enough to write in my notebook without a table or a desk. It lies flat. So I can write anywhere I want. I have either two thin notebooks inserted on both sides or inset one and one 9x6 book without being inserted. Even 9x6 fits well if you don't insert it. Professional -looking and very functional!
5.0 out of 5 stars Sturdy With Great Leather; Versatile; One Caveat
UPDATED REVIEW: 1/15/21.This journal cover is supremely giftable, made with great leather, clean finishes, perfect sewing, a useful pen loop, and very nice packaging including a sturdy brown box. I'm pleased to see that it fits the vast majority of my A5 notebooks including Eccolo, Stalogy 365, and, of course, the included journal. It should fit a Hobonichi Techo Cousin without issue. (Note: I would not use this with a Moleskine Classic Large size because the journal will be too narrow for the cover.)My only caveat is that I am not able to use the card slots as a wallet for all my credit cards, drivers license, etc. Everything fits, but then it's hard to get a flat writing surface on the left side of the page. I would stick to using the pockets as intended for a slim business card or two, stashing notes for a meeting, holding onto a receipt, etc.Pro tip: you can fit two pens in the pen loop if you flip them around and hook the clips on the loop. I like to keep a gel pen and a brush pen for my daily journaling, and this set-up works well with this cover.I will update this review again after I've written more in the journal and will report which pens, markers, and paints work best for my heavy hand.If it helps, these are the notebooks I've used where the clasp shuts properly:- Stalogy 365 (soft cover, grid, 368 pages)https://amzn.to/3nOuK66- Zequenz (soft cover, 400 pages)https://amzn.to/38N9Tvx- WriteWell (soft cover, 200+ pages)purchased on their website- Eccolo World Traveler (hard cover, 256 pages)purchased at Staples- Beechmore (softish cover, 160 pages)https://amzn.to/2Kj3Q8B- Le Vent refills (soft but stiff cover, 200 pages)https://amzn.to/3su2GID
5.0 out of 5 stars Quality Product and Professional Notebook
Purchase this for use on business trips. So far I have had it for approximately 6 trips and it has held up well in my backpack. The covers are sturdy; they are rigid enough to write on while holding the notebook with one hand. Like that it has holders for business cards so you can professionally store them when someone hands you are card. Overall, quality is exceptional and the leather is durable. I am enjoying the naturally worn look the notebook is acquiring. A must for me was that the notebook be refillable, which this is. The snap seems durable and should last. I paired this notebook with tri-color Zebra gel pen and it's great.
5.0 out of 5 stars Beautifully crafted and presented
My daughter was touched by this college graduation gift. The fact that I could order it engraved AND expedited was a plus. Even with expedited shipping the package came a day earlier than promised. I was so pleased as I wanted to give this gift on the day of graduation.I looked at many leather portfolios on Bolo and Etsy, wanting one that would be well-made and last for years. This one fits the bill perfectly. The craftsmanship was superb and the presentation box top notch to match. My daughter especially loved the engraving and the finished inside. You won't be disappointed with this purchase.
4.0 out of 5 stars what you want to know
The cover its self looks and feels sturdy. Not cheap! It has a more of a smooth finish to it but with some texture, it not like a normal suede finished. I'm not sure if after some time it will get like that or not, but it scratches easily. However, that only adds to the overall look you will one day get with time. If your sensitive to smells, it has a leather scent to it, although it is not a strong one. It is very faint, so you shouldn't have to worry too much about that. The stripe looks and seems to be sturdy with a snap closure. Now to the inside, the spin and backing has the more of a suede feel to it. The pockets to me feel like more of a light Denim or light Tweed material that is lined. Thery are four front pockets that look like they are only big enough to hold a business, id, or credit card. The back has one deeper pocket that looks like it can house and uncased phone maybe, or something else small. If you choose not to put both sides of the notebook covers in each slot, you can use that also to hold loose sheets of paper or a small pamphlet. The notebook itself is about an inch in thickness with a bronze color ribbon holder that matches the leather cover. The book lies flat other than the first page or two, but you can put them in the pocket to fix that issue. As for the pages, they are white sheets they look to be more of a wide rule. So if you're looking for more of a college rule, you'll may have to purchase a separate notebook. And the notebook that comes with it is not the linen book, it's a white card board notebook that is stitch bound, glued and taped covered. That is around 80 GSM, and you may have some light ghost writing depending on the type of ink you use and how hard you write. If you're wondering, once you put the notebook in the cover, you have maybe a half of an inch or so around it. That is for if you want to keep your pen in it and if that's the case, the biggest pen that looks like it could fit that everyone is familiar with or not, looks to be about a size of a 4 color bic pen. Anything thicker won't fit unless you just use slide on your pen clip in the back pocket and use it that way. Like I said, you have some room so if you like a little longer of a notebook it probably can fit something a little bigger in it. In comparison, the journal is almost about the size of composition notebook, just not as thin, that's if you're looking for something smaller. It also comes with directions on how to put in your notebook in the case and a 10 year warranty card. That you should register for online with case elegance that's a no brainier. It comes in a sturdy box and protective plastic case for the notebook and leather journal, so it won't get damaged in transit. I only gave it a four stars review because it took about 3 week to arrive. but other than that, it looks to be a very good journal or whatever you plan on using it for. I didn't want to get mine monogrammed so I can't tell you anything about that, sorry. If you want to know what made me purchase this journal in particular. It is mainly because it's made from real leather and the 10 year Warranty is a plus. That and it looked like the return process would have been a lot less of a head ache than the others if I didn't like it when I got it. So that's my reason, like it or hate it, that's up to you. Either way, I don't care... I hope this review helps you in your choice of purchasing or not.
5.0 out of 5 stars My Go To Notebook
This is the best notebook you can buy for work. It is professional, sturdy, and a good size. I use this every day and constantly get asked where I got it from. As soon as I fill this one up, I will be repurchasing another.
