Once again, Oxo delivers a quality product. I have had a towel holder with an arm that puts pressure on the roll to help you tear just one sheet. I found that it didn't hold up (the pressure diminished). I purchased this one and find it is: very easy to use,; attractive and unobtrusive; and strong enough to allow me to tear off one sheet with no struggle or extra sheets going along for the ride.

A paper towel holder is a simple object but this one adds just a little extra nice feature. In addition to holding a roll of paper towels, the design is sturdy enough so that tearing one sheet off with one hand can be done. Unlike most other holders, which would just spin and require one hand to hold the roll while the other one tears the sheet, this OXO item cleverly prevents spinning and allows a one-handed tear. This is a minor issue but handy, nonetheless

It's not the prettiest paper towel holder like some of those marble looking ones, but it has a plain stainless steel look. The reason why it is the best functionally is because the holder it self rotates with the paper towel tube, so it actually holds it. When you grab a towel and pull the roll, there is just the right amount of tension to get one or more pieces that you want and then yanking on the perforation to tear 99% of the time is perfect. There is enough weight on the base to accomplish this. It is well designed to function as it is supposed to work. It even works on the big oversized Bounty rolls.

We purchased this new paper towel holder when my old one broke. I was pleasantly surprised that it holds the paper towel in place yet I am able to tear off individual sheets easily. The metal is nice quality. I wipe it down regularly and that has not deteriorated the metal in any way. Also, it is very stable on the countertop. This is a great paper towel holder.

Works well. Be sure the towels come from the right side.Looks good, BUT the base is bigger than I expected. That's good from a functional perspective, but it looks a little too big in my small kitchen. It's advertised correctly, so no points off for that.Oxo almost always gets things right. This is another good product.Note, some have complained that towel starts to unravel without something to hold it in place. I haven't experienced that, but I'm using pretty stiff brand name towels that I received free. Can't say how it would do with a lesser paper towel. (But I'll find out -- I'm cheap.)UPDATE, LOST A STAR...when roll gets down to last 10% of towels, things don't go as well: Pulling on towel doesn't undo it from the roll; instead the whole things tips; so have to use two hands. (Note, lesser towels worked well.)

The Oxo paper towel holder is compact and sits nicely on my counter. The base is sturdy and has some weight to it. The paper towels roll easily on the holder. Definitely recommend.

We love this in our kitchen. One handed tear of the paper towel works well. A bit hard to push a new paper towel on, but once it’s on there it is super secure!
