A lot of people are going to complain that this burner doesn't boil water as well as their home's gas burner. Please note that this product is $15.It will simmer just fine but might not manage a rolling boil without a bit more patience than most of us have. Right out of the box it started doing it's thing and works perfectly. I'm digging it and I'm looking forward to freaking people out by cooking in my office break room. Thanks Ovente!

I've been through other coil portable electric stove tops, infrared-- or whatever it's called--(that use a lot of electricity1200 watts or more and do not heat faster. The one I have but don't use actually takes much longer to heat the same 5 qrt pit of soup.), and the iron top ones (these are great when they work, but lack the finesse of heat regulation, and take longer to cool off). This 1k watt stove works perfectly. It heats up large 5 quart pots and you have to lower the temp to a 2 or so to keep a good simmer going. This is the first one I've owned that has that finesse in heat regulation. It's easy to store, and I prefer the stainless steel appearance. My only complaint is that it is a pain to clean. The coil is not moveable, so getting under it to clean overspills is a major pain.

You can't beat the price if you are looking for the absolute basic, this works pretty good. That said, I am shopping for a better one after owning this for about 3 months. It works okay for light cooking, but it's small and it will BARELY boil a pan of water. I need something a bit bigger and with a bit more energy. I learned my lesson. You get what you pay for.

This little burner is great right out the box. It heats up at a good speed. It will have a buring smell at first use but your suppose to heat it for about 3 mins to burn the residue off. It's great for outdoors use or personal use. The heat settings goes up to 5. And it boils water just like a regular stove. The cord is a pretty decent length. Handle with care because the surface around the burner get hots. There's also a caution label.

Decent little table top stove if only need for a couple of weeks. I bought it because my kitchen has been gutted due to a plumbing leak.Cleaning it is difficult. Heating elements do not detach so cleaning under them is too much trouble.I cleaned the stove & temperature nobs using a soft wash cloth with very warm water and a dab of liquid dish soap. I’ve only cleaned the nobs a couple of times and the numbers on them have come off. Now, I have to guess at how hot I’m making it and it’s caused me to burn some foods I was cooking.With no numbers on the nobs for temperature it’s a guess when I’m turning it on and trying to set the temp.Maybe the manufacturer has replacement nobs but I only paid about $20 for this stove and if the nobs are $10 and will again lose the numbers on them for the temperature then it’s not worth it. Better off buying a better quality one the first time.

Nice size does not take up a lot of space. Heats up fast. One review mentioned it is hard to clean in between the coils which is true. So I made it a point to make sure I clean up any spells when it happens
