I only buy moleskin journals and it is because of the quality!! Love that this is hardcover with extra pages. The inside stitch was slightly loose but nothing that allowed any pages to get detached. Still a moleskin lover without a doubt!

On the very last page of the my new Moleskine Plain page Expanded edition, I tested my various fountain pens for ghosting and bleed-thru. Every signle one, even the extra fine point pens, failed the test, but I'm not surprised. Molelskine had to thin the pages down to fit 400 of them into a single notebook, and thin paper in any notebook can be a challenge for anyone who loves writing with fountain pens.That being said, I am extremely pleased with my new notebook. I love writing in pencil, too, which can be every bit as archival as ink. The paper in this expanded edition seems to LOVE pencil, and I certainly adore the ease of use of pencils. Refills are effortless (zero waste), no cleaning needed, they're erasable, and I can draw and sketch with them. If you're an avid "penciller" like I am, you're going to love the paper in this book. The paper has an ultra-smooth baby's butt finish which attracts graphite like a magnet, making writing and sketching effortless with pencil.Additionally, the book fit perfectly into my leather Robrasim Moleskine cover, despite being slightly thicker than the standard sized Moleskine. For that I'm also very well pleased with this expanded edition of the Moleskine Plain Page notebook.Just a quick bit of advice for Bolo. Dudes, you need to ship these beautiful books in packaging other than a plastic bag which can subject them to extreme damage during shipment. I held my breath when I opened the envelope, expecting to see a battle scarred notebook with a split binding. Fortunately, it arrived unscathed, but wow...you took a chance sending it in a plastic bag envelope with no padding.

Nice paper! I don't use fountain pens but all the other pens (including gel pens and highlighters) do NOT bleed through in this one!! Has Moleskine finally improved their paper quality without telling anyone? 😉 I know the old stock may still be around (especially since there are different third-party sellers on Bolo), but both this one and another I recently bought in store from B&N "perform" great! The paper definitely looks different: it is smoother and has a slightly creamy color compared to older ones.

I love this notebook. It’s a great size and format. It typically lasts me 7 months, so I use about 2/year. The notebook holds up really well for daily use, going everywhere with me, and then at home as a reference. The corners may get a little worn, but the functionality is still stellar.I wish the pages were slightly thicker, so I could use a broader variety of pens. I also wish it had a third ribbon as I tend to want to quickly turn to more than 2 pages. I also love the pocket at the back. I use the pocket for fliers/postcards and business cards I may need to reference during the day.Since getting long covid, my memory isn’t what it once was, so using this notebook has been invaluable. I used to keep notes on printer paper folded in 1/2 until someone recommended that I use a notebook so I didn’t have to keep up with all of those loose sheets of paper. It's been a game changer.

I love the journal as the paper feels like velvet. I recommend this journal to those who are doing journaling on a daily basis as there are enough sheets to complete the majority of a year. I am not happy about how this journal was shipped in a shrink wrap without anything to cushion it from the wear involved in being shipped. Bolo keeps cutting back but charging more for Prime. I don't have the same problem with their competitors.

i got this to try plus it catch my eye that it is very large and soft. I finally tested out with a few fountain pens I have and it did very well. I would say it is a good media notebook, very well made. Mine came in a little crush on the sizes but I am getting it straighten out. I also notice this paper from this notebook is a little different from the planners so be aware. The planner paper is to me feels a little better to use for fountain pens. Happy with my purchase and I am waiting on more planners that I purchase on a very good deal earlier in the week.

Quality!
I have bought a Moleskine every year for as long as I can remember. Recently, I did buy a few that were much cheaper. There was no lying; they were cheaper. I like how my gel pen writes; it does a fabulous job with the quality of paper that comes with Moleskine. Cheaper books have cheaper paper. My pen does not feel the same way.Here is my example: A few weeks ago, I took down a few medical appointments. They would begin on December 31st, then the 2nd, and then the 8th. I had a few medical drugs to take on the 31st and 8th. When I am told things over the phone, I write effortlessly, and it is my habit to be neat and write everything I need to know.Stupidly! I started using a cheaper approach because they were advertised at a local store. But, I found out I don't write as neatly with cheaper paper. I also did not write down everything and I woke up this morning not confident with my note-taking. I had to call the hospital and that was three different phone numbers, three different people and three different aspects to my three appointments. I wasted at least an hour checking and correcting my notes. I am convinced it is because I did not have the correct tool. I have about ten pages written in that book and am now redoing them into my expanded moleskin. That, too, is wasted time. I will look stupid calling people back to confirm what I wrote down. Why did I do this?>Which book is the cheaper one? Well, my money is literally on the Moleskine notebook. I hope I do not need to relearn this lesson again, and I hope you do not need to learn the lesson at all. Buy quality. Know that it will pay off in dividends within the week.Enjoy the difference quality makes. Enjoy your Moleskin.
My Fave Brand of Journal
I have lots of journals filled up but this brand is my favorite. I like that the lines are a bit thinner than most, I can fill up the page with more thoughts

Quality book
The softcover on it feels very comfortable and more natural to use than the hard cover alternative. I’ve seen other people online say it wears out easier though. Pages are a little thin but feels good with off white color.
