5.0 out of 5 stars Phenyx Pro PTV-2000: A Game-Changer in Wireless Microphone Systems
I recently purchased the Phenyx Pro PTV-2000, and I have nothing but positive words to say about this outstanding wireless microphone system. From the moment I unboxed it, Phenyx Pro has put much thought into the design and functionality of this product.Sleek and Lightweight DesignThe four-mic system is not only practical but also aesthetically pleasing. Each microphone has a sleek, lightweight casing that feels comfortable and well-balanced. This is especially important during long events where holding a mic for extended periods can become tiresome. Phenyx Pro has clearly prioritized user comfort without compromising on style.Impressive Sound QualityI was absolutely blown away by the sound quality of this system. The clarity of the mics is nothing short of amazing. Every word comes through crisp and clear, without any distortion. Whether you are speaking softly or projecting your voice across a large venue, the PTV-2000 handles it effortlessly. It is evident that Phenyx Pro has invested in high-quality components to deliver superior audio performance.Reliable Performance and RangeThe distance coverage of the Phenyx Pro PTV-2000 is impressive. I tested the mics extensively at an event and experienced no dropouts whatsoever. The signal remained strong and consistent, even as I moved around the venue. This reliability is crucial for live events where interruptions can be incredibly disruptive. With the PTV-2000, I had complete confidence in the system's ability to maintain a steady connection.Simple SetupOne of the standout features of the Phenyx Pro PTV-2000 is its simple setup. The process is straightforward and user-friendly, allowing even those with limited technical expertise to get the system up and running quickly. This ease of use is a significant advantage, particularly when time is of the essence.ConclusionGreat job, Phenyx Pro! The PTV-2000 has become my new go-to microphone system for all my events. Its combination of sleek design, exceptional sound quality, reliable performance, and easy setup makes it an invaluable addition to any professional's toolkit. If you are in the market for a top-notch wireless microphone system, I highly recommend giving the Phenyx Pro PTV-2000 a try. It delivers on all fronts and exceeds expectations.
5.0 out of 5 stars Quality budget friendly 4 wireless microphone system
The Phenyx Pro PTV-2000A is a solid entry level solution where multiple wireless mics are needed. If your looking for an easy to use, budget friendly system, you will not find anything better in this price. Range.Lets start with the packaging. The PTV-2000A comes in a box with a handle that makes transporting the system from gig to gig a breeze. The layered packaging system has the top layer securing the receiver/antennas and the bottom layer has a slot for each microphone individually.Receiver: The receiver is made of high-quality metal. There are no sharp edges. The front of the receiver is very plain with an on/off switch and the 4 volume knobs, one for each microphone. The knobs are smooth with little clicks to give the user a tactile indication of how much they’re adjusting the volume, it’s quite nice! The back of the receiver is just as simple, there is one ¼ inch unbalanced output and 2 XLR balanced outputs, power connection and two antennae connectors.Microphones: The microphone are made of plastic and are quite light. Each microphone is powered by 2 AA batteries (included). The microphones include a switch (Off-Mute-On). There isn’t any type of light indicator on the microphone to show if the mic is on or off/muted. Unlike higher end wireless mics, these microphones do not show what channel or frequency the mic/receiver are operating on, which is fine since the mics run on a fixed frequency. The mics are quite noisy. I don’t mean when you talk into them, I’m referring to holding them. When the mic is switched on, the movement of your hand on the mic can be heard through the speakers. Possibly in a loud venue, it wouldn’t be a problem, but in my quiet testing room, it was very noticeable. Speaking of noise, you can also hear a click through the speakers when the mic is switched from On to Mute/Off. Again, in a loud venue, it may not be noticeable. Finally, these mics fit in most wireless microphone clips. I own the Phenyx Pro PTU-7000A 4 microphone system and those microphones are a bit bulkier then these and I’ve had issues finding mic clips to fit them. The PTV-2000A microphones easily fit the generic wireless mic clips I currently use.In testing the product, the system was very easy to setup. I first tried the ¼in output and plugged it into a Yamaha Stagepas Mixer. It took some adjusting on the receiver and the mixer to dial in a solid volume level without feedback, but once dialed in, the mics sounded great. This type of setup is great if you do not need individual control over all 4 mics from the mixer. Good use for speaking events, meetings, karaoke nights, etc. I also tested using the balanced XLR outputs. The balanced Outputs will have Mic A/B on one channel on your mixer and mics C/D on a 2nd channel on your mixer. I felt the XLR outputs put out a stronger sound than the ¼ output, although there wasn’t any different in sound quality, just volume. This type of setup will give you a little control from the mixer of each set of two mics. This system boasts 160 ft line of sight range. I did my test in my basement and was able to walk around my house on both levels and the mic was still within range. There shouldn’t be any issues in a small to medium sized venue.Overall, I’d recommend the PTV-2000A if you need multiple mics, do not need a lot of control over each mic, and are on a budget.Pros:Budge Friendly4 Wireless MicrophoneQuality Built ReceiverSound QualityEasy SetupCons:Mics are made of plastic.Mics make a clicking sound when switched from On to Off/Mute, it gets picked up through the speakers. The sound of handling the mics is also heard through the speakers.Fixed frequency could be an issue in an area with a lot of wireless congestion.
