if for the first time to use this torch, we suggested that Before filling gas, Please use the red plastic tools included in the package to drain any remaining gas from the lighter by depressing the filling valve approximately 10 seconds. then stand by 3-5 mins, then you can add butane gas and start to use it.

I love this torch! I often burn Palo Santo wood for cleansing spaces and this is the best lighter for that.It's such solid weight construction, super easy to fill, great safety switch, and has a strong consistent flame. This would be great for emergency/camping/survival, and cooking (like toasting creme brulee), too. Highly recommend!

Flame doesn't seem to be as strong as expected, sometimes goes out when using inside of laminar flow hood. Seems very sturdy, and the flame lock feature is easy to use.

Very easy to use. I love using this for melting cheese on the top of my meals that I cook. No more needing to take an already hot meal and microwave it to make it unbearably hot just to get the cheese melted. Only slight nuisance about this product is that you have to give it a good shake every single time in order to get the flame going. For me it's no big deal but I can see someone who has a bad shoulder having problems with needing to shake this thing every single time before you use it in order to get the flame going. But, despite that slight nuisance, I still absolutely love using this thing for melting stuff!

The first lighter/torch sent to me was defective, in that it would not light, and if I lit the butane stream with a match, the flame was like that for a cigarette lighter. I submitted a critical 1-star review, and the company immediately contacted me and offered to send a replacement torch. I received the replacement promptly, and it worked exactly as advertised, with a steady blue torch flame. I have revised this review accordingly, and compliment them on their excellent customer service.

I bought this gadget for my kitchen. I like to use it to add a flame roasted texture and flavor to pie meringues and also on meats. I love my steak cooked blue/almost raw, but to be charbroiled on the very outside. This item is very handy for that! My only complaint is that the materials don't seem very sturdy/not well made. Buy hey, it does the job.

This item is poorly designed because the gas intake is on the bottom and not central the unit will only take gas from selected small butane canisters, purchased canister and the unit just won't align the nozzle , don't buy this.
