Gorilla Tough & Clear Mounting Tape (pack of 1) is a clear double sided tape that mounts in an instant, for a long-lasting, weatherproof bond. The crystal clear tape won’t yellow over time, and holds up to 38 pounds. Gorilla Tough & Clear Mounting Tape is perfect for indoor and outdoor projects and sticks to smooth and rough surfaces. Completing DIY projects are easy with this single pack of tough, strong double sided tape. Mount, build, and repair for a perfect finish, every time. Adhesive tape for wall hanging, bonding odd objects, or mounting heavy objects. Directions: Apply tape to back of object vertically, allowing for even distribution of weight. Avoid touching surfaces of the tape. Note: Apply 4” of tape per 1lb of weight. Cut the tape and press to secure the tape to object. Remove clear liner and align objects to desired placement. I used it to secure a plastic board, which is used a a security camera mounting point, to a brick wall.I even tried to remove after sticking it on, as it was too thin but gave up when I saw how well it was holding.I then used it to secure some solar lights to the same brick wall.It holds really well, but the tape is not a sticky mess itself, so it is relatively easy to handle (hold it by the sides).

You would think that tape is just tape, but clear acrylic mounting tape is truly legions ahead of the foam version. I've tried both, and while the foam one works, the clear one is way more versatile.Pros of acrylic:* Strong adhesion, enough to adhere posters, wall accessories, and the like* Easy to remove, comes off in one piece which is really important when you have an apartment or only want it to be temporary* Clear color. Helps to hide it if you aren't just directly covering it* Holds better in hot weather. I've used this to keep cables from moving in my car and this stuff sticks better when it's hot compared to the foam ones* Way more waterproof than foam. I use it to mount a sponge holder and it's been great.* Lasts way longer than foam. I've kept both inside a dry and cool drawer and I found that the foam one eventually loses its stickiness when just lying around. I won't fault the foam version too much since I've had it for a year or so inside the drawer, but the acrylic one stays sticky.Cons of acrylic:* More expensive per foot/meter. Not really an issue for me since I only use it sparingly, but might be a deal breaker for others.* Foam versions usually have a higher weight limit. If you are mounting heavier objects, you might need to buy foam versions instead.* Peeling and cutting is a pain. Scissors love to not cut properly from my experience and the film they use to prevent it from sticking to each other is unbelievably frustrating if you clipped your nails recently.I love using this for posters, sticking cables onto the wall (which is a budget way of cable management, don't judge), and mounting things like hooks and a sponge holder.
4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty strong and usable but unique, not for every job
This tape is thick and gummy like. It seems to stick pretty good to non porous surfaces but can be removed from the porous surfaces with some effort (comes off in 1 gummy piece if you pull with slow steady pressure).It's rather thick so keep that in mind. Probably the worse thing about it is getting the backing off. You peel some off the roll, attach to one of your surfaces then peel off the backing which is stuck very well to the tape, I end up picking at 2 or 3 of the 4 corners to get it started (easily the worst part of using it).It sticks immediately but also seems to gain strength over time (full strength in an hour or so). I have been using it to adhere 3D printed knobs to cabinets and such and and I have no real fear of them falling off. If you need to you can remove it though by applying steady pressure to it. (kind of like Command Strips).There are stronger double sided tapes and much thinner ones but because of the gummy nature of this thick stuff it may work where others don't as it can sort of flow into cracks and crevices that most double sided tape would just span and not stick to.

Gorilla Tough & clear double adhesive sided mounting tape( Clear). Tough tape but the plastic comes off each side. It's really good I don't have no problem with it. I need to buy some more ❤️

Purchased this tape to use in a tabletop greenhouse because a lot of other people with small greenhouses use it to hold up cords or whatever. It works fine in the greenhouse with 80% humidity, but doesn’t work anywhere else around my house! I’m using it to hold cords or to stick a light switch (like those little rocker ones) to a surface and forget about it - it doesn’t hold for more than a couple of hours at most. Very disappointing from a brand that prides itself on its strength.

We recently ordered LED lights from Bolo, but they would not stick. So we purchased this tape to put them up. Works perfectly. Due to thw width of the tape, I was able to cut the tape into smaller strips and use on the light.

Works perfect for this job
I opened the package as soon as it arrived and used it to hang some overhead wires so that they are out of sight. I did not take the backing tape off and it worked perfectly for this job. Time will tell if the tape continues to hold or if the backing tape wants to come off but for now, this is perfect. I love the fact it is clear with an occasional GORILLA printed on it. It almost disappears.

Very weak!
I was quite disappointed with the Gorilla Double Sided Tape. It didn't adhere as well as I expected, and I had to keep reapplying it. It didn't hold up to its reputation for strong bonding, which was frustrating for various household tasks. I wouldn't recommend it for heavy-duty applications.
