Description:

About this item:

  • Sound that Satisfies: MaxSound's audio experience is one that appeals to casual listeners and audiophiles alike. The advanced audio processing tech, larger drivers, and more powerful amplifier modules results in a fully articulate sound at all volumes.
  • Bass that Booms: Small speakers usually give small sound. That's not the case with Tribit's proprietary XBass technology. At the press of the button, the bass is amplified to give those low-end bass lines depth and synth and acoustic drums tight punch.
  • Seriously Waterproof: Portability is incomplete without the ability to weather the elements. With IPX7 waterproof, MaxSound Plus gives you the confidence to enjoy your music even in the most humid or wettest of conditions.
  • Extended Playtime: Don't let a long daytrip stop you from bringing a soundtrack - with up to 20 hours of battery life, you can have the playlist going all day. Enjoy great music with the freedom of portability without the fuss of entangled power cords.
  • Pair and Play: Move freely around with your smart phone, without worrying about dropping your music. MaxSound Plus wireless speaker offers an incredibly robust, secure connection and lossless wireless sound at a range of up to 100 feet.

5.0 out of 5 stars Incredibly reliable and rugged speaker with great sound

    M.A. · August 27, 2024

I purchased this speaker more than 4 years ago, and it's still going strong! I use it almost daily for an hour or two, have dropped it multiple times, it's gotten wet, forgotten in the heat and cold... and I still haven't had any problems with it.The black casing has gotten scuffed and dinged a bit, but nothing seems to have damaged the speaker. The battery life is still very strong, giving about 12 hours on a single charge (it takes about 4-6 hours to charge it from low).Every once in a while it will randomly disconnect from Bluetooth, but that's maybe once a month or less. It's easy to fix: just put it into Bluetooth pairing mode and reconnect it to your device. The X-Bass gives nice depth, but I don't usually use it because in my opinion it muddies the sound a bit. I think it also uses more battery life.It can get quite loud if you want it to, although if you're using it for spoken recordings (audiobooks or podcasts) it doesn't always get loud enough if there's lots of ambient noise. Music always seems to be loud enough.Overall, this has been an incredibly dependable little speaker, and it was well worth the price. I'm curious to see how long it will last!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Speaker for Price

I purchased this to replace an older speaker I bought about a decade ago (not same company or anything). After searching and some light research I figured I'd give this company's Maxsound Plus a try.First impressions were packaging. The box it comes in is quite nice and it is packaged in the box very well and professional looking. Easy, simple Bluetooth connecting.I did some sound checks with different genres and was quite impressed with the quality coming out. One of the best things I noticed is how clear audio is and it scales fantastic with volume with no distortions. With and without the extra bass feature.Audio usually always sounds better with the extra bass feature on, giving a much better range of the audio of what you are playing. As others have said, depending on your environment, is how well you can really get out of the extra feature.Depending on what I played, sometimes something might be too bass-y and I found it better with it off, which is very simple by just hitting the button on top. Easy on and off. I also have used this for listening to podcasts and radio programs and found it's better with the bass off as it gives better vocal clarity. Mind that the speaker does do a good job without bass feature on, you still get a nice spectrum of the notes. After some testing with full charges, I was able to get about 8-9 hrs of use with bass feature on, and about 16-18 hours with bass off. That was with constant use with it on, at what I guess would be about 30%-50% volume. With intermittent use, with bass on and off randomly to suit my tastes, the speaker can go quite a long time before needing a charge. It probably does hit close to 20 hours with intermittent use.Last few notes; I never had a problem with going out of range and probably never hit close to its stated range. I have gotten the speaker wet, not soaked, and it holds up very well with no changes in audio and no hiccups. This speaker does a great job of directing sound, so if you need or want a speaker that you can put in a corner of a room, or want to have a specific spot in an area to 'throw' the music only in one area, this is great for that. If you want to put this in the middle of a room on say a table and want the whole room with sound, the other Tribit speaker is probably best for you.Pros-Great clear sound-No distortions through volume changes and can get quite loud-Extra bass feature is nice and does add a nice punch to your music, but isn't required to hear great sound.-Great range from audio source for the size-Great waterproofing-Nice compact design you can carry easily-Throws the audio in one direction very wellCons-Battery life can be quite well, but may not be the length you are looking for between charges.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tribit MaxSound

The Tribit MaxSound Plus, 24 watt speaker is impressive. I picked this particular speaker because I was also getting the Tribit Bluetooth speaker recommended by Wirecutter and National Geographic and wanted to compare. I am keeping both. The Max Sound connects easily with my tablet and phone. It is rugged enough to haul around the house and outside. The bass boost is fantastic. I have tried it with an audiobook, as a noise machine (the truck going up a hill is impressive). This speaker is great to have around. It is not the gold star of speakers, but the Tribit MaxSound Plus is an excellent, affordable addition to anyone's house.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great sound for the price!

I have to first admit that I am a fan of Tribit. I got my first bt speaker from them a few years ago (a StormBox Pro, the black in the picture) during a Black Friday sale, and like it so much that eventually I ended up owning three!Anyway, so my daughter lost one of the SBPro's at Coachella last year, and I've been thinking about replacing it. When I saw this Tribit Max Sound Plus model on sale my interest was picked. I liked the "pill" form factor, that it came in blue (my daughter's favorite color), and the price was right.I have using it for about a week now and it pretty much parallels the pro's and con's of my other Tribit device. The sound quality is excellent for a device of this size. The bass is weak unless you turn on the X-Bass mode, and then it is good. Not as "bumpy" as the Bose SoundLink Mini, but at about a 7th of the price, it is great. The BT is strong and reliable (never had any issues), it keep playing in my basement office even when I went upstairs to my room. What I really like about Tribit is their "Party Mode", which allows multiple devices to be linked to play the same content, so you can place a bunch of them around an area and still cover it with soft music. I have enjoyed "Party Mode" with the SBPro's, but not the MaxSound Plus, since I currently own just one. However, my wife want to get one for her sister, so I will get a second one soon. The fact that it is IPX7 rated makes it perfect for use where it might get wet, or even submerged (up to 3 feet)...it does not float, so... be careful. The battery does seem to take a while to fully charge, but last the whole fricking day (over 15 hours).Bottom line:Great sound with good bass (with XBass activated), strong BT connection, has a microphone for calls, waterproof but does not float.

Finally a unit that lead out neutral rich sound!

    A.C.C. · June 26, 2023

After buying, trying and returning two sub 50 CAD units like these, I finally bit the bullet and went for this unit. I had my eye on a soundbite 3 as well but seeing that it had less wattage tweeters in them than in this one, I went for this one. After I turned it on and the sounds started coming out of it, I knew that this was it! This one that did the trick. This and many others in this price range are all similarly built but it really depends on the brand whether you will end up getting a good heavy unit with good grade diaphragms or just a good looking knock offs that are of no use unless you are sitting right next to them. I bought two models before this, one from musibaby which is of the shape of a coke can and a second one from a brand called Lenrue, both of which I returned because I didn't get anything out of them in terms of sound quality. I was looking for something around 40 ish CAD but there is nothing in that range that doesn't sound like crap.70 ish CAD including tax for this and finally I am happy. One thing to note here is that all of these speakers are not subwoofers and you will never get what a full size subwoofer can give you no matter how much you spend. That being said, this speaker seems to have nice components in it that makes it much heavier than those cheaper units that are below 50 CAD. These ones have two 12 W tweeters in it. On top of that , the bass set up, which I have to say, is able to bring out the low end of tracks just enough so that you know what exactly that track actually sounded like when it got mastered at the studio, which is quite impossible to hear with say a TV speaker which is mostly flat in its sound profile. This unit also handles highs and mids equally well even at very high volumes which is impressive considering the price point. String instruments like guitar , violin, cello or base have a hum in their low frequency that just brings out the warmth in the sound that they produce. If you have ever sat near a person playing one of these instruments, you will know what I'm talking about. I'm happy to say that this unit brings out that subtle warm low frequency hum for instruments that rely on strings to output their sound frequencies. The two models that I bought earlier and returned didn't even stand a chance at reproducing any low-end sounds even though they were advertised as having an extreme bass and all and but unfortunately they failed miserably in delivering what they were advertising. This one however gives off a nice neutral sound that most people will appreciate right away. This is a good unit that's similar to the sound profile of the big shots like JBL, Marshall etc. So go for it if you are in the market for a speaker that won't break your bank and at the same time satisfies you in terms of the frequencies that it produces across low, mid and highs.

    Really impressed

For the price point I was a tad sceptical but got this one after reading reviews and hours of research on comparable speakers.I am impressed. As a lifelong music addict and a penchant for heavy beat remixes of the good tunes of old, this thing is amazing.Xtra bass button is a bonus and it pump's out the sound perfectly.Battery life is pretty good, considering I am not nice usually to my audio equipment.Bluetooth range is good, currently working from my computer inside a house while I am a reasonable distance away outside in the garage so 4 solid walls and 30 meters or so, no hitches or glitches. If you are looking for a portable speaker in the spring range, go for it.

    Muy buena potencia

    C.d.A. · September 9, 2022

    Serious update from first review!

    K. · October 15, 2019

My initial review was largely wrongI am an insomniac and tend to watch TV long after others have gone to bed and live in an apartment building and worry that at 2am the TV noise will bother others. I hooked up a Bluetooth transmitter to the TV and have been using wireless headphones but if I fall asleep they are rather uncomfortable. I decided to use a smaller speaker close to the couch instead.Overall it works great and with the speaker by my head the volume is much lower and does not disturb anyone now. I love that if the TV turns off and no sound goes to the speaker after a while it will turn off and save battery life. The one negative is the lag. Although not huge it is noticeable that the sound has a slight delay when people speak on the TV. Oddly this is the only device I have that has a noticeable delay including cheap wireless headphones and another Bluetooth speaker that I purchased long ago that was even cheaper than this one.The sound quality is good, not amazing, but good. Others rave about how much better it is when you use the base boost button but I notice next to no difference but then again, I am not by any means and audiophile or perhaps mine is defective. If you are not using it where a slight lag will make a difference I would say it is not the best.Where I went wrong was saying that sound quality was equal to my old one (about 5 years old of similar size) was of the same sound quality plus had lag. This was correct when listening to the TV but when I hooked it up to real music, oh my gosh what a difference especially using the base button!I rated this as a 4, probably should have been a 3 for TV use but for $50 Canadian and for its size and battery life for listening to music it's a solid 5 stars!I now want to get one for my workshop, bedroom etc.Easy to hook up and far better sound and battery life than I would expect from something this size and price.
