They were easy to use, and the children enjoyed taking their time creating their own unique ornament. I was surprised that not only my 3 to 5-year-olds loved it, but my pre-teen and teenagers were excited to do it also; they remembered creating scratch ornaments when they were younger. Bought these for my grandkids while they were visiting at Thanksgiving. They really enjoyed it. I would suggest providing some ideas on how to use them with the product. We went online to get some pictures to give the general idea of what to do. You should also use them somewhere that is easy to clean up. They do leave bits of black pieces. This is easy to clean up if you put down some newspaper or an old tablecloth over a table.
