We use baking soda for so many things, including teeth brushing and balancing our bath water ph (mixed with vinegar). I am not a chemist, but feel that this product is healthier than the big brand.

I read a DIY article on how to dry out dog poop, make it easier to dry out and pick up, plus limit flys. I used this along with 15 drops of peppermint oil and went out and spread over all dog poop in my back yard. Poop dried up within 24 hours, flys were minimal, yard no longer smelled, and the bonus was my large breed Boxers avoided stepping in the poop and didn't try to lick or eat the sodium bicarbonate peppermint oil combo. They smelled it and promptly walked away! Made it SO much easier to pickup the large dog poop, even loose stools/diarrhea! Infact, I put the powder combo on the dog poop and didn't expect it to rain overnight. Since the sunlight hit it all day, and I planned to pick up the dog poop the next morning, the dog poop was still dried out, the rain didn't reverse the effects of the powder combo! HIGHLY recommended for this purpose!!

I use this with a little water to do soft scrub. I put it in all the dog accidents so that it sucks up the smell and the moisture. That particular concoction I put pet carpet deodorant in. Keeps my house from smelling bad. I put it in any of the bedding that I wash for the dogs. it and hydrogen peroxide will take out almost any smell. So a couple times a year I buy a big bucket of it.

lid a bit hard to deal with if you have arthritis (I have to leave it slightly ajar rather than deal with trying to pry it up with hands that hurt) but happy with having this much baking soda available to me, as I use it a lot for all kinds of things.
