I’ve own this workhorse for many years and I absolutely love it. Connectivity is solid. Once plugged in, my computer recognizes it as an alternate camera. It works immediately. Installation was easy and so far after at least 2 years, I’ve never had to revisit the Okiocam website for driver issues. (I need to check how long I’ve had this device. )Appearance is not as cute as some cameras. However, what it lacks in appearance, it makes up in quality. The base is smartly designed to fold out flat and become the surface upon which I write on. Sometimes, I wish the edge of the base was a little longer to support the right margins of my paper. However I adjusted by writing on a notebook.In terms of versatility, it functions extremely well as a document camera for teaching, but not as much as a document scanner. It doesn’t have a light, but for what I do as a teacher, it illuminates nicely enough. I use Papermate fine tip markers when I’m solving problems or using worksheets in a well lit room. I also love the compactness and durability. When traveling with it, I use the box that came with it. Any writing tool I use is visible under this camera. If lighting is needed. I use my desk lamp.Now as a document camera for scanning documents, 📄 im clueless on how to master this with my camera. It takes great pictures, which is what I end up loading for my students. I may take half a picture. However, finding that picture to upload has been a challenge. (I often resort to using my phone for document scanning. ) I’m not tech savvy, so it’s possibly operator error. I haven’t used the flat grey surface with my dry erase marker as much as I thought I would. I did it once, and it looked like the stain was hard to remove, so I abandoned that idea. Mine came with an extension which is used periodically.Overall I love it.

This document camera is small but mighty and excellent for teaching from home. It gives a great picture and is easy to use. You can plug it in and it works. There is also an app that you can download that enhances control of the zoom, focus, lets you adjust the contrast, freeze, and take pictures. There are buttons for these features on top of the little camera itself that also control these features. At the end of the day, this little camera folds up extremely small to be put away. I bought this on another teacher’s recommendation and have since recommended it to friends. I would absolutely buy this again. It is a great piece of equipment at the right price.

my video will not upload.sorrySO INSTUCTION MANUAL IS "VAGUE" BUT NOT HARD TO FOLLOW AND UNDERSTAND. YOU DO HAVE TO DOWNLOAD THE APPS ONTO YOUR COMPUTER/LAPTOP TO USE THE FEATURES THAT ARE ADVERTISED....THERE ARE SETTINGS FOR YOU TO PLAY AROUND WITH FOR CAMERA AND PICTURE "QUALITY" BUT STILL NOT THE "BEST" IN CLARITY TO ME...NO MATTER WHAT FOCUS YOU CHOOSE TO USE. ....IT IS AN EASY SET UP...I WISH THE OUTPUT OF THE IMAGE SIZE WAS SOMEWHAT "WIDER" IN RANGE esp IF YOU'RE TRYING TO DO A BOOK UNLESS I GOTTA LEARN HOW TO DOWNSIZE TO GET THE WHOLE BOOK RECORDED...THE "ZOOM IN" CAN BE SOMEWHAT "TRICKY" AND CHALLENGING WHEN TRYING TO GET IT TO FOLLOW ...SOMETIMES I HAD TO CHOOSE THE "RESET" EITHER ON THE POINTER WHICH IS THE YELLOW FLIPSIDE OF IT OR CLICK "RESET" ON THE COMPUTER TO START THE FOLLOW AND ZOOM OPTION OVER AGAIN, BECAUSE IT ONLY SEEMS TO FOLLOW AT A CERTAIN DISTANCE OR WHATEVER BEFORE IT STOP "FOLLOWING" YOU AND WHERE YOU ARE TRYING TO POINT TO...NOW DONT GET ME WRONG, IT WILL COME IN HANDY FOR WHATEVER YOU NEED TO USE IT FOR WHILE DOING PRESENTATIONS OR WHAT NOT...BUT ITS JUST GOT SOME "SMALL" CONS TO IT THAT I MAY END UP LEARNING HOW TO USE IT AS TIME GOES ALONG...YOU CAN STILL PURCHASE IT WITH NO PROBLEM AND BE OKAY WITH IT.....JUST GIVING MY "NEW -LEARNER- EXPERIENCE"- OPINION

I am a teacher. In my classroom, I project lessons on my big, clunky Elmo document camera every day. When we switched to a virtual setup due to the whole global issue, I didn’t have room to bring that beast of a doc cam home with me.I decided to try the Okio Labs camera just to get me through until we came back in person. I instantly fell in love with the size, portability, ease of setup, clarity of picture, and the options available to use the camera, whether as a still cam or a video feed.This little thing is awesome!Being a small and inexpensive device, you have to expect some limitations. The stand, while collapsible, is rigid in place while in use. It is also a little spindly and fragile for classroom use, but would be great for personal or professional use that doesn’t involve rambunctious kids. The zoom feature is digital zoom, not done by adjusting the lens, and the display on the computer does take a little getting used to, especially if you are trying to make the most of the available features.All of that aside, I am a big fan of my little document camera. I want to replace my current classroom Elmo with my little Okio. I just want a version that is a little sturdier so my students can’t wreck it.

Das Set beinhaltet: Eine aus- und einfaltbare Bodenplatte mit einem Standfuß für den Arm, an dem eine 3 Megapixel-Kamera montiert wird. Zusammengelegt sind das in etwa 8 Zentimeter x 18,8 Zentimeter x 4,2 Zentimeter.- Wenn man das alles aufbaut, ist der Abstand zum Blatt perfekt. Die Kamera ist dann ca. 40 Zentimeter vom Blatt entfernt.- An der Cam selbst sind 4 Knöpfe: Zum Drehen des Blattes, für heller und dunkler stellen und zur Neufokussierung, wenn das Blatt mal verschwommen wiedergegeben wird, was z.B. passieren kann, wenn Blätter zu schnell gewechselt werden.- Ich finde die Optik auch wichtig. Das System wirkt nicht störend in meinem Arbeitszimmer. Die Farben sind freundlich und neutral. So fühle ich mich nicht immer wieder genötigt das System zusammen zu legen.- Mir hat die Cam bisher toll geholfen bei meinen vielen Konferenzen seit Corona. Wenn ich was auf dem Papier schreiben will, lege ich übrigens eine zusätzliche Matte unters Papier, damit mich die Rillen der zusammenlegbaren Matte nicht stören.➖ Das Negative:- Die Auflösung der Cam könnte höher sein. Wobei ich sagen muss, dass normale Blätter, die auch sonst schlecht in normalen Terminen gezeigt werden können, weil die Buchstaben viel zu klein sind, von mir auch nicht aus dem Homeoffice extrem herangezoomt werden müssen. Deswegen reicht die Auflösung wunderbar.FAZIT:Ich finde das Set super. Es steht dauerhaft aufgebaut in meinem Homeoffice und hat schon so manche Zusammenarbeit in einer Konferenz vereinfacht. Ich hoffe, dass ich euch bei eurer Kaufentscheidung helfen konnte 😊
