My sister bought a new house, and found a similar hourglass for her livingroom. Unfortunately, she broke it bringing it in the house, and it was the only one the store had. 5 minutes on Bolo and I found her this one. She really loves it and it made a great house warming gift.

Ignore the huge crack and patch on the lower bulb, that was my fault and my fix, when I received it, it was in perfect condition.Other then sand that sticks to the sides on the way down from one bulb to the other I really have no real complaints as a tap on the top does the trick.Before the crack and patch, it was timed at 58 minutes. now after losing some sand after being fixed twice it is probably around 57 minutes.I love the metal design which to me is more modern then antique and kind of industrial.My only real nit-pick is the bases which are made of several parts which are a pain to get back on after removing, That being said I love the big screws part of the industrial look I like.

The media could not be loaded. When I opened the package there was black sand everywhere and a tiny pinch of sand in the hourglass. Edit: my replacement is terrible. The sand keeps stopping and no matter how many I shake it, the sand stops after a couple minutes. Now I have 2 hourglasses to return. I don't want another replacement.

I bought this for my 13 year old. I accidentally broke a very junky and cheap one he got at the school book fair. I told him I would get him a much better one to replace it. He was definitely impressed with this one. Not a museum piece. But a worth the price.
